The HR & Marketing Coordinator plays a vital role in bringing our Employee Value Proposition to life by supporting the full employee lifecycle -- from attracting exceptional talent to onboarding, development, engagement, and offboarding -- while also supporting internal communications, employer branding and marketing initiatives. This role partners with leaders across the organization to deliver an outstanding employee and candidate experience while helping strengthen MHIF's culture and brand.
Approximately 75% of the role supports Human Resources activities and 25% supports Marketing & Communications.
Primary Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Recruiting
  • Coordinate the full-cycle recruitment process including job postings, sourcing, screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communications.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand position requirements and develop recruitment plans.
  • Source, attract, screen, and evaluate qualified candidates while building talent pipelines.
  • Coordinate interviews, reference checks, offer letters, and all candidate communication.
  • Maintain ATS records, recruiting metrics, interview notes, and compliant hiring documentation.
  • Prepare offer letters and support pre-employment processes, including background checks and new hire paperwork.
  • Support employer branding through recruitment marketing, careers page updates, social media content, internships, career fairs, and talent attraction campaigns in partnership with Marketing.
Onboarding & Employee Experience
  • Coordinate new employee onboarding, orientation, and first-day experiences that introduce employees to MHIF's mission, values, culture, and Employee Value Proposition (Where Purpose Meets Progress), creating a welcoming and engaging start to their employee journey.
  • Prepare onboarding materials, IT requests, and workspace coordination.
  • Partner with Marketing to coordinate internal announcements, employee spotlights, and organizational communications that celebrate people, milestones, and culture.
  • Assist with creation and coordination of marketing collateral, presentations, and digital content that supports recruiting, employee engagement, and organizational initiatives.
  • Support employee engagement, recognition, wellness, and culture initiatives.
  • Help organize All Staff meetings, employee events, celebrations, learning opportunities, and develop engaging HR communications that reinforce MHIF's culture and Employee Value Proposition.
Human Resources Operations
  • Assist with and provide support for a variety of human resource processes, employee inquiries, and requests.
  • Administer benefit plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations, coordinating documentation with payroll and insurance providers.
  • Coordinate the employee offboarding process, including resignation and termination documentation, exit checklists, benefit notifications, system access coordination, and communication with internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth and compliant transition.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate exit interviews, track feedback and trends, and share insights with HR leadership to support employee retention and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with managers, IT, and Payroll to ensure timely completion of offboarding activities, including return of company property, final payroll coordination, and system access removal.
  • Ensure all offboarding documentation is completed accurately and maintained in accordance with organizational policies and applicable employment laws.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS and personnel records while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Contribute to HR reporting, process improvements, special projects, and support organizational communications, presentations, and marketing initiatives as needed.

What Sets You Apart
  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of HR, recruiting, or talent acquisition experience.
  • Experience supporting full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and HR administration preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to create engaging employee communications.
  • Knowledge of HR practices and employment documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Experience with HRIS/ATS systems; ADP preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Canva, social media platforms, email marketing, or other marketing tools is preferred.
