Job Overview

Impact Shipt is looking for a Senior Engineer in the Checkout Team. You will build, manage, and enhance conversion systems and other related services, working on a team of 5–6 engineers to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain application code using Golang, Python, Redis, Postgres, and Kafka in a microservices architecture.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain application code.
  • Work with product and operation teams to address challenges in Cart, Checkout, Tax, Fees, and Pricing.
  • Collaborate with fellow engineers, product managers, and partner teams to deliver impactful solutions.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 5+ years of software development experience, with proficiency in Golang (preferred), Python, Java, or C/C++.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing (unit/integration), deploying, and maintaining backend REST API services with a strong focus on performance and latency.
  • Comfortable with SQL databases, especially Postgres.
  • Experience diagnosing and solving complex technical problems and performance bottlenecks using data.
  • Ownership of production services, ensuring reliability and performance; willing to participate in on‑call support rotation.
  • Effective collaboration with engineers, product managers, and partner teams.
  • Outcome‑oriented mindset focused on delivering value, not just shipping features.
  • Passion for learning, mentoring, and helping others grow.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience integrating with third‑party services.
  • Optimized backend systems for latency, performance, and scalability.
Education

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
