Overview
Facility Manager
LOCATION: Kirtland AFB, NM (100% on-site)
JOB STATUS: Full-time
CLEARANCE: DoD Top Secret Clearance
TRAVEL: Occasional (~once a year)
Astrion is seeking a Facility Manager to support satellite integration and test facility operations for Air Force Research Lab Space Warfighting Directorate at Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, New Mexico. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge space hardware in a collaborative environment driving innovation in space systems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 2+ years of professional experience with aerospace or defense-related facility operations
  • Experience with mechanical operations (forklifts, large equipment movement, etc.)
  • Experience with shipping, receiving, and inventory of government property
  • Experience with DoD or AF facility safety standards and procedures
  • Excellent ability to manage complex tasking and independently solve problems
  • Excellent team player and ability to collaborate with other engineers and technicians

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • Associates or Bachelors degree
  • Experience with space flight and non-flight equipment handling procedures
  • Experience with satellite integration and test facilities (clean rooms, high bays, etc.)
  • Experience with mechanical operations in support of satellite AI&T

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Open and track facility maintenance work orders
  • Coordinate with AFB civil engineering for building repairs and maintenance
  • Ensure facility equipment is properly tracked in government inventory
  • Oversee facility safety equipment and procedures (fire extinguishers, emergency lights, shelter-in-place program, fire permits)
  • Ensure facility security procedures are followed
  • Ensure proper handling and inspection of HAZMAT material
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of tools
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders on facility and equipment inspections
