Job description

About the Role:
Join CBRE as a Facilities Manager supporting one of the nation's largest retail healthcare organizations, serving a portfolio of more than 200 retail locations across the Southeast. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing HVAC and refrigeration maintenance operations, managing field teams and service partners, and ensuring safe, reliable facility performance across a large retail footprint.
This position can be based in Chicago, IL or Atlanta, GA and requires occasional travel (typically quarterly or biannually) to support client operations and business priorities. The role leads a team of technicians and coordinators while partnering closely with vendors and client stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do:
  • Lead and develop a team of technicians and coordinators, providing coaching, performance management, and career development.
  • Oversee repair, maintenance, and service delivery for a portfolio of 229 retail locations, ensuring operational excellence and client satisfaction.
  • Manage HVAC and refrigeration maintenance programs, coordinating internal technicians and third-party service providers.
  • Build strong relationships with client stakeholders and lead discussions to resolve operational and facility-related issues.
  • Monitor vendor performance, review service proposals and invoices, and ensure quality, cost, and compliance expectations are met.
  • Drive safety initiatives and maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) best practices.
  • Conduct facility inspections, identify improvement opportunities, and support maintenance planning and capital projects.
  • Utilize systems and reporting tools including ServiceChannel, FM Pilot, Benchmark Gensuite, and Excel to manage work activity, compliance, and operational performance.

What You'll Need:
  • 3+ years of facilities, maintenance, field service, or operations leadership experience; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience leading and developing teams in a multi-site facilities, retail, or service environment.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems, including repair and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Strong background managing vendors, contractors, and service-level performance.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety with a solid understanding of LOTO procedures and safety compliance programs.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities within a high-volume, fast-paced operational environment.
  • Proficiency with CMMS and facilities management platforms, including ServiceChannel, plus strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive results.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel periodically as business needs require.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Facilities Manager position is $92,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Facilities Manager position is $170,000 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
