Job description

SUMMARY
The Facility Sanitor role is in place to maintain a clean and safe environment. This role is a support role for multiple operations groups and reports into the packaging team. Maintaining and improving our requirements to be a food safe facility will require an individual to multitask and support unforeseen operational when tasked.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Floor scrubber operations and adherence to scrubber zone program
  • Ensure maintained areas represent our appearance as being an SQF Excellent rated facility
  • Perform environment cleaning using proper chemicals in required situations (foam, soap, )
  • Follow color code policy for cleaning materials used across facility (i.e. product contact, floors, drains)
  • Access and utilize chemical room storage
  • Ensure hand wash areas are clean and all materials are available
  • Maintain hand wash station with approved chemicals and ensure all systems are in proper working order (including filling Meritek stations with proper soaps/sanitizers)
  • Ensure spill kits are stocked ready and are in designated areas
  • Must be trained and able to participate in spill containment (oils, chemical, water, sewage)
  • Ensure safety kits are stocked with materials needed in the operations area assigned
  • Ensure eye wash stations are clean and in working order
  • Act as Trainer for proper cleaning and sanitizing of dumpsters used daily
  • Ensure VMI room materials inventory quantities are available and room is organized
  • Ensures materials needed for trucker lounge and restroom facilities are present
  • Act as resource to all operation areas for general cleaning
  • Fork truck duties when required to support various tasks (requires fork truck license) Perform all other duties as directed by Team Leader

FOOD SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Producing product free of contamination
  • Following all Ken's Foods Security and GMP policies
  • Reporting any suspicious activities anywhere in or around the plant
  • Inspection of work area for any possible product contamination issues on a continuous basis

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Language Skills:
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
