Job purpose
This position is responsible for implementing production manuals and documentation. This position is also responsible for coordinating production schedules and ensuring desired quality and quantity of product is run daily.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage production floor
• Direct Production Managers in managing Production Supervisors
• Continually monitor labor and production costs in effort to keep as minimal as possible
• Determine Production Managers schedules and vacations
• Monitor Production Managers and their responsibilities
• Correspond with Maintenance, Quality and Research and Development Departments to ensure a coordinated effort is in place to produce best possible product.
• Responsible for plant cleanliness and safety
• Responsible for all production on all shifts
• Participate in Management Review and Assessments
• Secondary contact for Security
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred
• Minimum 5-10 years of successful manufacturing and operations experience as VP or Director of Manufacturing or Operations
• Experience working in a $100 million or larger food manufacturing company that utilizes hot fill technology preferred
• Proven experience with internal and competitive benchmarking
• Lean and/or Six Sigma experience preferred
Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds. Position will frequent the production floor, so operating in standard seasonal warehouse and food processing plant temperature conditions will be required. Work is completed in a facility where nuts, fruits and other allergens are present.
