Repair Station Accountable Manager (Full Time)
Department: All Openings, Warranty

Job Title: Job Code: 1195 Grade: M6 Department: 2271 – Service Center Pay Type: Exempt Position Summary:

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of Piper’s FAR 145 Certified Repair Station, including scheduling aircraft maintenance activities, supervising technicians and interacting with customers. Manages and directs team to maintain and improve service center operations, safety, and security, enhancing the business results and team performance. Ensures that department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Works closely with other businesses and departments, implements and supports Service Center projects and initiatives that may include, but are not limited to safety, productivity, quality, delivery, cycle, growth, inventory, and customer value proposition.

Essential Job Functions
  • Responsible for the scheduling of all Repair Station aircraft maintenance activity.
  • Responsible for supervising all maintenance and verifying its proper completion, as well as the completion of corresponding work.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all work conforms to applicable manufacturer’s specifications, acceptable maintenance practices and FAA requirements.
  • Responsible for completing and providing associated log book entries as required.
  • Responsible for the organization and calibration of all shop tools.
  • Perform hands on maintenance as needed.
  • Interface directly with customers concerning maintenance issues.
  • Foster and maintain a working relationship with the FAA as it relates to the operation of the Repair Station.
  • Responsible for updating the Repair Station Manual as required.
  • Interface directly with other departments, within the Company, as required ensuring timely delivery of aircraft.
  • Accomplish/coordinate training for Repair Station employees.
  • Ensure required parts are available when required
  • Attend training as required.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position is responsible for direct and indirect supervision and development of staff. Responsible for timely and close communication with staff and organizational leadership, including input on staff performance and corrective action observations. Sponsors and oversees strategic initiative and continuous improvement projects. Provides training and assists other employees, effectively partnering and collaborating on department and cross-functional organizational initiatives.

Minimum Position Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and 10 years experience in general aviation maintenance with at least 5 years in a supervisory role; Bachelor degree with at least five of these years as supervisor in related field is desired; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Airframe & Powerplant License (A&P) required. Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred. Thorough knowledge of and working understanding of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR’s) and Part 145 Repair Station operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of fundamentals of aircraft mechanics and working knowledge of Windows based computers and programs are necessary to perform the duties in this position. degree or higher education desired; with at least five of these years as supervisor in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Engineering or business degree preferred.
  • Related technical and professional certifications preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to sudden changes in project priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
