Overview:

Job Title: JRSS Network Technician

Security Clearance: Secret

Location: Hill AFB, UT

(Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.)

Description:

C3EL is seeking a cleared and experienced JRSS Network Technician to join our team on-site at Hill AFB, UT. This position provides technical expertise for critical network infrastructure. Our customer is the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and acts as the provider of GIG/Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to its customers, the department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations. This position directly supports the DISA-provided GIG capabilities and services in the 24x7 DISA Global Operations Center (DGOC).

(This role is considered "Mission Essential" and may require supporting rotating involves shift work, which includes nights and weekends.)

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Execute network operations to include analysis of customer traffic across the MPLS and JRSS infrastructure.
  • Perform real-time customer failover to restore services during scheduled and unscheduled outages and maintenance actions.
  • Work directly with supported customers and peers to ensure maximum network availability to minimize or eliminate mission and operational impact.
  • Proactively monitor network alarms across platform specific network management tools.
  • Perform a variety of change management tasks which include hardware replacement, software configurations, and ASI management.
  • Utilize incident management applications to document all aspects of reported outages/degradations, isolations, escalations, and resolutions during the lifecycle of a service impacting network incident.
  • Assess and identify resolutions to various network incidents and/or deficiencies leveraging knowledge in one or more of following: routers, switches, routing protocols, MPLS, VPN technologies, IDS/IPS, proxies, packet capture, network taps, load balancing, firewalls, out-of-band management.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • An active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance.
  • Current DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE, or equivalent).
  • 2-4 yrs of recent and relevant technical experience.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following: routers, switches, routing protocols, CISCO, Juniper, MPLS.
  • General understanding of network topologies.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 operation.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Tech control facility or cyber transport experience
  • Circuit actions and vendor experience
  • IP architecture experience
  • Telco NOC, inside or outside plant experience.
  • Experience with MS Office suite, i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, TEAMs
  • Experience with one or more of the following: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management, change management.
  • Any additional certifications to include: CCNA, JNCIA-Junos, F5 Networks Certified Technical Specialist, ITILv4.
Education:
  • A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent is required.
