Position Summary:
The Extrusion Technician II role is a hands-on position which will run secondary operations as well as assist in the running of machinery set-up and running production orders within the Extrusion Department. The ideal candidate will come in with working knowledge of extrusion processes or support, and will also have great communication and work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote a safe work environment always adhering to safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment following 5S standards.
  • Communicate and work together with fellow employees promoting a positive work culture.
  • Be proficient in all aspects of equipment setup for all related secondary equipment; mills, cut-to-length equipment, spoolers, and post cure ovens.
  • Ability to use a scale caliper comparator and other measuring equipment accurately to ensure product meets specifications.
  • Monitor and maintain a high-quality standard and rate throughout all processes.
  • Understand and use work orders blueprints engineering specifications SOPs and process documentation as required to perform setup of machinery and troubleshoot problems.
  • Maintain accurate written records following GDP and use the IQMS system as required for electronic documentation of work output.
  • Perform documented in process quality checks at regular required intervals.

Must Have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 - 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in roles of increasing responsibility.
  • Knowledge of Extrusion Process related to working in an organization that performed Extrusion processes. Direct Extrusion experience is highly preferred.
  • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and decimals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Results oriented and ability to work autonomously.
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to interact and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to frequently handle various types of machine oils, lubricants, silicone, and latex.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision and color vision.
  • Ability to use a computer for simple data entry, tracking orders, tracking jobs, and for general communication.

Pay Rate: $20.00/hour
