  • The purpose of this position is to operate or support the operation of production equipment and perform processes related to manufacturing flexible pipe.
  • Extrusion Operators participate in a structured on-the-job training program to develop basic skills through the completion of competency modules and hands-on training.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reports directly to the Extrusion Supervisor and assists the Level III / Designee in set up and operation of the assigned production equipment/machine.
  • Under the guidance of Level III / designee, Extrusion Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager the Level II Operator operates assigned equipment/machinery for the purpose of producing production, test, or experimental pipe.
  • Inspects work in progress, as well as the overall finished product to ensure compliance with Company Quality standards.
  • Maintains work center cleanliness, including material storage areas, in accordance with facility operating policies and Standard Operating Instructions.
  • Completes required documentation records, as required, in accordance with procedures.
  • Successfully complete 16-hour Ultrasonic Testing Training (UTT) Course.
  • Complete Quality Module IV for Extrusion.
  • Understand Manufacturing Design Specifications (MDS).
  • Must be able to identify process variation and communicate to Level II, Level III and Extrusion Supervisor any process changes.
  • Complete 40 hours of Ultrasonic Testing D-meter experience.
  • Successfully complete NDE – Ultrasonic Testing Certification.
  • Able to identify anomalies and/or non-conformances.
  • Assists Lead Operator in analyzing and resolving line operations problems.
  • When applicable, loads material into machine for production runs, including maintaining material traceability.
  • Assists Level III Operator, and Extrusion Supervisor for the purpose of coordinating activities associated with the work center.
  • Assists in all work areas in accordance with the Standard Work Instructions, Policies, and Procedures, as directed by the Extrusion Supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
