Job description

MX is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Operations Associate to join our External Relations team. This is a unique entry-level opportunity for a professional with 1-3 years of experience to sit at the intersection of Public Relations, Government Affairs, and Connectivity Data Partnerships. In this role, you will serve as a central force enabling high-impact work across the team to bring structure, clarity, and momentum to a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary function. You'll support both strategic initiatives and day-to-day execution, gaining a 360-degree view of the fintech business along the way.

This role is designed as a career launchpad into External Relations or Product Management, offering exposure to executive communications, financial institution partnerships, public policy and product roadmaps.. Ideal candidates are highly organized, resourceful, and energized by working behind the scenes to make complex work run seamlessly.

Job Duties

Operational Mastery and Process Design:

  • Structure and Systems: Act as the primary owner of departmental structure and processes, identifying improvements to enhance efficiency and visibility, and creating process-driven systems for the team

  • Procurement Management: Lead and manage internal procurement processes to ensure the team has the resources and vendor partnerships needed to move quickly

  • Travel Logistics: Optimize complex conference travel logistics for executives, ensuring every detail is meticulously planned to protect their time and MX resources

Strategic Coordination and Project Management:

  • Alignment: Ensure all department activities are strategically aligned across the PR, Government Affairs, and Connectivity branches to support shared company objectives

  • Timeline Management: Maintain and update rigorous timelines for connectivity partnership deals and technical implementations.

  • Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs): Own the end-to-end scheduling and slide deck creation process for QBRs, translating complex data into compelling visual narratives

  • Administrative Project Management: Provide subject matter expertise in project management to support one-off initiatives as they arise

Content Support and External Relations:

  • Briefing and Research: Support executives for public appearances by conducting research and drafting comprehensive briefing documents

  • Metrics and Performance: Consistently track, manage, and forecast department reportable metrics to demonstrate the impact of External Relations initiatives and identify trends over time

  • Follow-up and Execution: Manage post-meeting follow-ups for the team, ensuring action items are tracked and executed to maintain momentum with external stakeholders

 Requirements
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience (inclusive of internships) in an operations, project management, or administrative role.

  • Education: Background in Finance, Technology, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.

  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with Google Suite, Slack, Zoom, and Microsoft Suite.

  • Detail Orientation: Strong ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Problem Solving: Resourceful and proactive in navigating ambiguity and removing roadblocks.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to assist in creative projects.
