Summary Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Payroll leader to manage and coordinate with our outsourced payroll provider The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing through our external partner, maintaining employee data integrity, and providing strategic insights through data analysis. This role requires a strong understanding of HR processes, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to lead a team effectively.

What you'll be doing:

Payroll Coordination:

  • Oversee and liaise with the outsourced payroll provider to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
  • Manage payroll schedules, deductions, and adjustments in collaboration with the external provider.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to plant / employee inquiries
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit required payroll reports
  • Work with third party partners to prepare tax filings and year-end activities.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices.

Team Leadership & Support

  • Supervise or support payroll specialists or coordinators
  • Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to payroll staff
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex payroll issues

Reporting:Generate and analyze payroll to provide insights and support decision-making. Present findings to senior management.

Vendor Management:Liaise with outsourced payroll vendor to ensure service level agreements are met. Evaluate vendor performance and provide support in in contract negotiations.

Employee Support:Provide support to plants, HR team and employees regarding payroll inquiries. Conduct training sessions to educate employees on system usage.

Project Management:Lead HR projects related to payroll, including system implementations and upgrades

This is an onsite position located out of Hartsville, SC or Charlotte, NC (South End) Office

We'd love to hear from you if:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR data management and payroll coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, HRIS/HRCM systems, and relevant payroll/labor laws and regulations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in HR software (Workday, ADP Lyric) and Microsoft Office Suite
