Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Payroll leader to manage and coordinate with our outsourced payroll provider. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, maintain employee data integrity, and provide strategic insights through data analysis.

What Youโ€™ll Be Doing
  • Oversee and liaise with the outsourced payroll provider to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Manage payroll schedules, deductions, and adjustments in collaboration with the external provider.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to plant/employee inquiries.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations and prepare required payroll reports.
  • Assist thirdโ€‘party partners with tax filings and yearโ€‘end activity preparations.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices.
  • Supervise or support payroll specialists/coordinators, provide training, guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex payroll issues.
  • Generate and analyze payroll data to provide insights and support decisionโ€‘making; present findings to senior management.
  • Liaise with outsourced payroll vendor to ensure serviceโ€‘level agreements are met and evaluate vendor performance.
  • Provide support to plants, HR team, and employees regarding payroll inquiries and conduct training on system usage.
  • Lead HR projects related to payroll, including system implementations and upgrades.
Location

This is an onsite position located in Hartsville, SC or Charlotte, NC (South End) Office.

Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR data management and payroll coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, HRIS/HRCM systems, and relevant payroll/labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problemโ€‘solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in HR software (e.g., Workday, ADP Lyric) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Payroll (e.g., CPP) or HR (e.g., PHR, SPHR).
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Experience managing payroll for a manufacturing or complex organization.
  • Exposure to HRIS systems and integrations.
