Job description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract-to-hire pharmacy role offers a unique opportunity to work within a Long Term Care (LTC) and Mail Order environment, supporting patient health and safety through expert medication management. Based in Weaverville, NC, this position features a four-day workweek with flexible 10-hour shifts (9am–7pm or 10am–8pm), Monday through Friday, over a 13-week assignment with potential for permanent placement.

Key responsibilities include accurately accepting and dispensing prescription medications, monitoring patient medication compliance, and ensuring all pharmaceutical practices comply with legal standards. The pharmacist will provide patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, and interactions, while also offering additional health services such as smoking cessation support and blood pressure and cholesterol management. Managing inventory and supervising pharmacy technicians and clerks are integral parts of this role. Attention to detail in compounding medications, both sterile and non-sterile, and collaborating effectively with healthcare practitioners is essential.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience
  • Licensure to practice pharmacy in North Carolina
  • Experience in Long Term Care and Mail Order pharmacy settings is highly desirable
  • Sterile compounding experience is a strong plus
