Quality Technician Company Info

A growing automotive manufacturing company on the west side of Indianapolis is adding a Quality Technician due to continued business growth and expansion of its quality department. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys problem-solving, quality systems, inspections, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.

Job Summary
  • Support the facility's quality management system and customer quality requirements
  • Perform inspections, testing, and containment activities to ensure product quality
  • Manage and maintain calibration systems for inspection and measurement equipment
  • Conduct shipping audits to verify packaging, labeling, traceability, and documentation
  • Oversee non-conforming material processes and defect containment activities
  • Perform incoming inspections of raw materials and components
  • Support root cause investigations using tools such as 5 Whys and 8D
  • Assist with internal audits, process audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain quality records and documentation
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and suppliers to resolve quality concerns
  • Support new product launches and sample part builds

Qualifications
  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent quality/manufacturing experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality role preferred
  • Experience with quality systems and automotive manufacturing environments preferred
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plans preferred
  • Experience with calibration systems and measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers
  • Familiarity with SPC and basic data analysis
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Effective problem-solving and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and quality management software
