Description:


Leading Freight Forwarder / NVOCC/ Customs House Broker/ Tank Container Operator, with locations in 24 countries and over 3300 employees strong, is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the position of Export Customer Service for our Tank Department in our Houston, TX office.


What You’ll Do:

  • Develops and maintains excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Receives, reviews, and processes export documentation for an assigned base of accounts.
  • Processes and follows Shipper's Letter of Instructions accurately.
  • Arranges, books and confirms cargo space.
  • Monitors KPIs and ensures that all processes are attended to within set timelines.
  • Advises customers of extra costs, and ensures they are billed promptly, accurately, and fairly.
  • Prepares and processes House B/Ls, Master B/Ls, Invoices, Insurance Certificates, Certificates of Origin, Consular Documents and EEIs.
  • Processes documents through the appropriate system in a timely manner to ensure compliance with established deadlines.
  • Prepares and/or sends advance notification of shipments and documents to banks, shippers, consignees, and destination offices, as required and within established standards.
  • Handles AES submissions, as per Government Regulations and Leschaco Company Policy.
  • Closes files, creates Freight Invoices and distributes documents in accordance with Shippers Letter of Instruction and in compliance with export standards.
  • Advises supervisor of any problems or irregularities discovered within assigned transactions.


Requirements:
  • 3-5 years experience in ocean imports or exports with a freight forwarder or ISO tank operator.
  • Knowledge of Export Regulations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines daily
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Be able to work independently, multi-task, be a team player and work in a fast paced environment
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Experience with the handling of hazardous materials a plus
