Quality of life is also important on the job, so we've prioritized work-life balance by offering flexible/remote work opportunities, part-time benefits, and generous PTO. We believe that each day is an opportunity to support one another, to support our clients, and to support our communities. If you feel the same, then you've found your future.
At Fuss & O'Neill, we deliver innovative environmental and engineering solutions that strengthen communities and critical infrastructure across the Northeast. As we continue to expand our presence in the utility sector, we are seeking a Senior Environmental Professional to play a pivotal role in both delivering high-impact projects and driving strategic growth.
This role sits at the intersection of technical excellence, client leadership, and business development. You will serve as a trusted advisor to key utility clients while helping shape and expand our environmental services across electric, gas, and water markets.
This is a high-profile, growth oriented leadership opportunity within our Environmental Business Unit-ideal for a seasoned professional who brings deep technical expertise, strong utility relationships, and a proven ability to influence client strategy and win work.
  • Provide senior-level technical leadership on environmental projects, including compliance, site investigation, remediation, and permitting
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to utility clients, strengthening long-term partnerships and expanding service offerings
  • Support and drive business development efforts, helping position and secure work with electric, gas, and water utilities
  • Collaborate with Market Leaders, Discipline Leaders, and Business Unit leadership to identify and pursue strategic growth opportunities
  • Contribute to proposal strategy, including positioning, pursuit planning, and go/no-go decisions
  • Mentor and guide project managers and technical staff supporting utility accounts
  • Ensure high-quality, compliant deliverables aligned with regulatory requirements and firm standards
We're seeking a well-established environmental professional who combines technical credibility with market influence and thrives in a client-facing, growth-oriented role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering, Geology, or a related field
  • 15+ years of environmental consulting experience
  • Professional licensure preferred (PE, LEP, LSP, PG, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience delivering environmental services to utility clients
  • Established relationships within Connecticut, Massachusetts, and/or Southern New Hampshire utility markets strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills
What Sets You Apart
  • Recognized expertise in environmental consulting with a strong focus on utility clients
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, win, and grow key client relationships
  • Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and environmental challenges within the utility sector
  • Proven track record of leading complex projects and driving business growth

This is a hybrid role, offering the best of both worlds-collaborate in-office with a high-performing team and enjoy the flexibility of working remotely part of the week. We're committed to supporting work-life balance while maintaining strong team connection and project delivery.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Customize your work schedule to fit your life.
  • ย Health & Wellness: Comprehensive health benefits to keep you and your family healthy.
  • ย Continuous Learning: Access to online courses, conferences, and learning materials to fuel your professional growth.
  • ย Paid Time Off: Take the time you need to recharge with our generous paid time off policy.
  • ย Career Advancement: Clear paths for promotions and the opportunity to take on new challenges.
  • ย Fun Team Culture: Regular team-building activities, happy hours, and company outings.
