Job description

We are looking for an applicant passionate about art for a Bilingual Production Coordinator role with Kaikai Kiki.

โ˜…This position offers mostly remote work, with occasional in-person meetings.

โ˜…Seattle area is preferred. The US West Coast is accepted.


โ—ŽAbout the Role:

The Bilingual Production Coordinator supports the coordination of Takashi Murakamiโ€™s exhibitions and artwork production, working with partners around the world. In close collaboration with the Exhibition Director, this role provides administrative support for Kaikai Kikiโ€™s Seattle operations, with a focus on exhibition and production coordination.

The position also serves as a key liaison between the artist and the studio, as well as partner institutions and fabricators, including translating, drafting, and managing correspondence in both Japanese and English. Occasional international travel will be required to support and oversee exhibition and artwork installations.


โ—ŽJob Type: Full-time

โ˜…Work Location: Remote (Based in the Seattle, WA area preferred; West Coast candidates accepted). โ˜…Please note that there is no physical office.

โ˜…Pay Rate: $28.00 - $38.00/hour (Equivalent to approximately $58,000 - $79,000 annual salary) + 1.5ร— overtime pay.

โ—ŽAbout Kaikai Kiki:

Kaikai Kiki is a general trading company of art led by artist Takashi Murakami. Kaikai Kiki's business activities include art production, film and animation production, artist management, gallery and cafรฉ management, game development, e-commerce management, publishing, and merchandising.


โ—ŽResponsibilities:

Coordinate logistics, travel, shipping, and other aspects of art production and exhibition production in support of Takashi Murakami and Kaikai Kiki artists.

Serve as a liaison between the artistโ€™s studio and partner institutions, including translating, drafting, and responding to emails in both Japanese and English.

Provide administrative support for the Exhibition Director.

Perform additional duties as needed.

Occasional work outside regular business hours.


โ—ŽRequired Qualifications:

Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Fluency in Japanese (written and spoken).

Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

Strong interest in contemporary art.

Willingness and ability to travel internationally throughout the year.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelorโ€™s degree.

Experience handling artwork or working in an art-related field.

Proficiency with Mac and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

Strong organizational and coordination skills.

Flexible, proactive, and eager to learn.
