Job Summary

Responsible for leading and instructing the various group-exercise and fitness classes offered to members and guests of the facility. Greets each member and guest who enters the group-exercise area with an enthusiastic attitude and providing an entertaining, effective and safe group-exercise experience. Demonstrates the ability to modify exercises to adapt to all participants. Responsible for maintaining accurate attendance records and logging into club management software for tracking purposes. Communicates with Supervisor on any changes, concerns, or needs as they arise. Responsible for set-up and breakdown of class materials and maintenance of equipment as needed. Finds substitute instructors for own classes when needed and notifies Supervisor of changes. Attends all scheduled employee meetings. Assumes other duties and projects as assigned.


Required Qualifications

- Require current certification as a group-exercise instructor or current nationally recognized certification or documented evidence of training in that specialty for instructing classes in yoga, Pilates, spinning or other related specialty classes.
- Require Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification within ninety (90) days of hire.


Preferred Qualifications

- Prefer a minimum of one (1) year of experience or two hundred (200) hours as a group-exercise instructor.
- Prefer Bachelor's degree in Health/Exercise Science, Kinesiology or a related field.
