RYE CROSSING GROUP EXERCISE INSTRUCTOR JOB DESCRIPTION
Reports To: Regional Director Sports Courts and Fitness
Directly Manages: No One
Position Type: Independent Contractor
Job Summary:
Lead fitness classes for residents, demonstrate proper form, motivate participants, maintain equipment, and promote club activities at Rye Crossing
Essential Position Functions:
  • Instruct and motivate group fitness sessions for various fitness levels.
  • Monitor participants, offer appropriate corrections for form, and maintain a safe environment.
  • Explain proper techniques and act as a resource for guidance on exercises and our service.
  • Set up and break down classes, utilize the check in features to ensure everyone in class is accounted for, ensure equipment is clean and function. Report any issues to the Regional Director of Sports Courts and Fitness
  • Greet members warmly and provide excellent service.

Required Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fitness programming, exercise selection, exercise science, anatomy, and coaching.
  • Experience leading group fitness classes.

Educational Experiences and Requirements:
  • Relevant certifications for specific modalities are required (i.e. Yoga, Aquatics, etc.)
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
  • 5 years' experience and/or the equivalent experience and training in a private, member owned club/space. Hospitality resort experience, preferred.
  • Working Conditions
  • Must be in excellent physical condition and perform activities such as bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, lifting, and grasping for extended periods of time.
