POSITION Exercise Science Instructor
LOCATION West Chester Campus
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Exercise Science Instructor is responsible for the delivery of quality education that adheres to required curriculum standards for Exercise & Athletic Training, Exercise Psychology, Fitness Evaluation, and interest-driven specialty capstones.
Students will participate in the Future Health Professionals (HOSA) career-technical student organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Appropriate licensure/certification through the Ohio State Board of Education or ability to obtain proper licensure. Applicants must meet ONE OF THE FOLLOWING requirements to be considered for this position:
    • Current SBOE licensure in VO/CT/CW Fitness Aide (070410);
    • 3+ years verifiable work experience in sports medicine, exercise science, and/or healthcare fields AND willingness & ability to complete Ohio's alternative teacher licensure process;
      • Preference given to candidates with:
        • 30+ semester hours in sports medicine and/or exercise science fields of study;
        • Current, valid Ohio athletic trainer certification;
        • Current, valid BOC certification;
  • Willingness/ability to work with students, teachers and administrators as a team member;
  • Computer expertise appropriate to the position;
  • Effective and demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral and written communication, and organizational skills;
  • State-issued identification card with photograph;
  • History of strong work record, including good job attendance; and
  • Documented evidence of acceptable criminal record as required by Ohio law and Board Policy.

START DATE August 2026
SALARY $52,819 - 110,180 (placement based upon experience and education)
BENEFITS Includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; tuition reimbursement
WORK YEAR 185 days; 7.5 hours/day
