What You’ll Do

If you’re a seasoned seller who thrives on complex, high-value deals and influencing at the executive level, this is your arena.

As a Building Account Executive – New Construction, you’ll lead the charge in shaping the next generation of smart, connected buildings. You’ll sit at the intersection of technology, construction, and strategy—driving large-scale, multi-million-dollar projects from vision through execution.

In this role, you won’t just sell products—you’ll architect end-to-end building solutions, integrating HVAC, fire, security, controls, and Johnson Controls’ cutting-edge OpenBlue technology platform into some of the most dynamic construction projects in the market. Think healthcare campuses, airports, stadiums, and universities.

You’ll partner directly with building owners, developers, architects, and consultants—guiding them through complex decisions and positioning Johnson Controls as the trusted, single-source solutions partner.

Your impact:

  • Own and close large, sophisticated new construction deals across diverse vertical markets

  • Lead executive-level conversations to shape building technology strategies

  • Drive adoption of integrated, future-ready smart building solutions

  • Expand opportunities by bundling equipment, services, and long-term solutions

  • Become a strategic advisor to owners and their representatives throughout the construction lifecycle

How You’ll Do It

This is a true hunter–strategist role where you’ll blend technical expertise, commercial acumen, and deal leadership.

You will:

  • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles, often spanning months or years

  • Influence design and specification decisions early in the construction process to position JCI as the preferred partner

  • Build and manage deep relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and contractors

  • Drive deals forward by securing progressive commitments and aligning stakeholders

  • Develop compelling value-driven proposals, bids, and financial justifications

  • Differentiate Johnson Controls by delivering holistic, integrated solutions competitors can’t match

  • Collaborate with internal engineering, solutions, and service teams to bring your vision to life

  • Own your pipeline, your strategy, and ultimately—your results

This is a role for someone who sees the big picture, anticipates complexities, and knows how to navigate and win in high-stakes environments.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a proven dealmaker—someone who knows how to win large, complex opportunities and influence at the highest levels.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture) or equivalent experience

  • 5–7+ years of progressive, high-level field sales experience, including executive engagement

  • 3+ years in the building technologies or construction ecosystem

  • Strong understanding of the construction lifecycle, delivery models (plan/spec, design-build), and key stakeholders

  • Demonstrated success leading and closing complex, multi-solution deals

  • Ability to assess customer needs and design turnkey, integrated solutions

  • Proven track record of influencing C-level and senior decision-makers

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

Preferred:

  • Experience selling integrated low-voltage systems (BAS, security, fire, AV, nurse call, structured cabling, etc.)

  • Established relationships with owners, architects, consultants, and contractors

  • MBA or advanced business/technical education

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $68K-$105K (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
