Executive Video Editor information

What does an executive video editor do?

An Executive Video Editor oversees the video editing process at a high level, often managing a team of editors and collaborating with directors, producers, and clients to shape the final video product. Their responsibilities include setting creative direction, ensuring consistency with brand and story, reviewing edits for quality, and meeting deadlines. They may also be involved in selecting footage, making critical decisions on pacing and style, and troubleshooting technical or creative challenges. Executive Video Editors typically have extensive experience in video production and editing, along with strong leadership and communication skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an executive video editor?

To thrive as an Executive Video Editor, you need advanced video editing expertise, a strong visual sense, and extensive experience with post-production workflows, typically supported by a relevant degree or portfolio. Mastery of editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, and familiarity with color grading, sound editing, and media management systems is expected. Leadership, creativity, attention to detail, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for collaborating with creative teams and managing multiple projects. These skills are vital to consistently delivering high-quality content that aligns with creative visions and organizational goals.

How does an executive video editor typically collaborate with creative and production teams during a project?

Executive Video Editors work closely with directors, producers, and other creatives to ensure the final video aligns with the overall vision and brand standards. They often participate in planning meetings, provide input on storyboarding, and oversee editing timelines to coordinate with production schedules. Clear communication and feedback loops are essential, as they must integrate input from multiple stakeholders while maintaining creative consistency. This collaborative environment helps ensure high-quality content delivery, especially on deadline-driven projects.

Are executive video editors still in demand?

Executive video editors remain in demand as high-level professionals overseeing complex projects, especially in media, advertising, and corporate sectors. They often require advanced editing skills, experience with industry-standard software, and the ability to manage teams and workflows in fast-paced environments.

Is an executive video editor a high paying job?

An executive video editor typically earns a higher salary compared to entry-level editors due to experience and leadership responsibilities. Salaries can vary based on industry, location, and the complexity of projects, with experienced professionals often earning six-figure incomes. Team: Ramsey Network

Please note that applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Location: Franklin, TN—on-site, relocation assistance available, flexible schedules available

Salary: $55,200–$73,000/year* + profit sharing + benefits
*Range depends on skill level and overall experience.

A Little Bit About Us: You might know us from our founder and CEO, Dave Ramsey, who's given no-nonsense money advice on the radio since 1992. Three decades later, Ramsey Solutions is a household name in personal finance, with a mission to change the toxic money culture for good.

Our Mission: Ramsey Solutions provides biblically based, commonsense education and empowerment that give HOPE to everyone in every walk of life.

Here's a Taste of Our Benefits:

  • Health insurance (includes plans eligible for an HSA—with a company match up to $500!)
  • 401(k) retirement plan with 4% match/company contribution
  • Annual wellness, counseling and grocery membership reimbursement
  • On-campus cafe with subsidized pricing for breakfast, lunch and coffee bar
  • Dependent care FSA
  • Tons of cultural activities, like weekly devotional, leadership development courses, Battle of the Bands, and one epic Christmas party!

Where and How You'd Work:
Ramsey Solutions Headquarters is located just outside of Nashville in Franklin, Tennessee. We value our strong, unified company culture because we believe the best work is done together. That's why all of our team members work on-site under the same roof. But work-life balance is also important to us, so we offer flexible work schedules to take the stress out of appointments, family obligations and other needs that may pop up.

While every team member has a designated workspace (with an electronic sit-stand desk), our campus was designed to house a variety of unique work and play zones (e.g., quiet library space, coffee bar/lounge areas, recreational game zone, and outside/patio work and break areas).

What You'd Do in This Role:
Every video you cut helps tell the Ramsey Network's story to a massive audience, from full-length shows to YouTube Shorts and ads, and you'll have real ownership over how each one comes together. You'll partner closely with producers, learning their vision first and then bringing your own creative ideas to make every project even stronger. Work moves fast here, so you'll be trusted to edit efficiently, hit deadlines and budgets, and keep a great attitude when priorities shift. You'll also play a role in keeping the broader team running smoothly, from clean handoffs with audio and graphics to staying organized in our data asset systems.

You're Probably a Match If:

  • You have 2 to 3 years of professional video editing experience, with sharp instincts for pacing, cutting, and storytelling.
  • You're skilled in Adobe Premiere or a comparable professional editing platform.
  • You stay level headed under tight deadlines and adapt quickly when priorities change.
  • You bring a calm, easygoing energy to a fast-paced creative team.
  • You're open to using AI tools as part of your editing workflow.
  • You've got experience in filmmaking, cinematography, or motion graphics, such as After Effects, that adds extra depth to your work.
  • You love the craft of editing and want to build a long-term career doing it.

What Winning Looks Like:

  • Cutting standout videos that go beyond the brief, with pacing and storytelling that make people want to keep watching.
  • Earning producers' trust through constant, clear communication, so nobody's left guessing where a project stands.
  • Bringing ideas to the table once you understand the vision, not just executing what's handed to you.
  • Solving problems quickly and keeping momentum when a project's scope or timeline changes.
  • Spotting ways to improve team processes and speaking up about them.
  • Keeping every project's assets organized and easy for teammates to find.

Other Stuff to Know:
We're looking for people who are passionate about our mission. This isn't just a J-O-B. We experience resistance every day because what we believe is absolutely countercultural. We actually hate debt. We actually cut up our credit cards . . . like, for real. Some of us are still fighting our way out of debt, but we aren't going back. If you don't know much about Ramsey Solutions and our founder, Dave Ramsey, we encourage you to download the Ramsey Network mobile app and consume our content.

If Ramsey Solutions sounds like a workplace where you can get excited about Mondays, apply today. We can't wait to hear from you!
