Job description

As the Director of Revenue Operations & Strategy at Talkiatry, you will sit at the intersection of finance, commercial strategy, and data — serving as the analytical and strategic engine behind how we grow and monetize our business. This is a high-impact, highly visible IC role with the opportunity to build out a team in the future.

We are looking for someone who thinks like an investor, operates with the precision of a banker, and has the product instincts to build systems that scale. You will own the revenue growth strategy, shape our go-to-market approach across payers and markets, and build the data infrastructure that drives decision-making at the executive and board level.

About Talkiatry

Talkiatry is transforming mental health care by making high-quality psychiatry more accessible, human, and sustainable for both patients and clinicians. Co-founded by a patient and a triple-board-certified psychiatrist, we were built to solve one of healthcare’s most urgent challenges: millions of people struggle to access mental health care, while clinicians face growing administrative burden and burnout. Through our technology-powered, in-network platform, we’re changing that, creating a better experience for patients and empowering clinicians to focus on delivering exceptional care.

Today, Talkiatry is the largest dedicated psychiatry practice in the U.S., with 750+ psychiatrists, 250+ therapists, and more than two million patient visits delivered nationwide. At our scale, every innovation has real impact. Every workflow we improve, every technology solution we build, and every patient experience we redesign helps thousands of clinicians provide better care to hundreds of thousands of patients. We’re not just growing quickly — we’re redefining how behavioral healthcare is delivered in America.

Joining Talkiatry means joining a mission-driven team that is solving complex problems at scale, driving meaningful change in healthcare, and building the future of mental health care with compassion, innovation, and purpose.

You will:
  • Own the revenue growth strategy. Define and drive the strategic plan for how Talkiatry grows revenue — across markets, payers, care lines, and patient segments. Identify the highest-leverage opportunities, build the business case, and own execution against them.

  • Lead go-to-market analytics. Build the analytical foundation for GTM decisions — market sizing, payer mix optimization, pricing strategy, patient / payor reimbursement performance, network expansion modeling, and referral channel performance. Turn data into clear recommendations that shape commercial strategy.

  • Partner on product strategy. Work closely with the Product team to define data and tooling requirements that support revenue growth. Translate strategic priorities into clear product requirements and hold the roadmap accountable to commercial outcomes.

  • Drive Commercial partnership. Serve as a strategic partner to the Chief Growth Officer on contract renewal and payer strategy, including rate negotiations, reimbursement optimization, and payer mix management.

  • Support strategic transactions. Lead financial modeling, market analysis, and diligence support for JV structures, payer partnerships, and market expansion decisions. Provide strategic and financial insights to inform investment decisions.

  • Own revenue forecasting and financial modeling. Build and maintain the revenue model — bottoms-up and tops-down — with investment-banking-level rigor. Own the revenue line in the operating plan and provide scenario analyses that support board and investor reporting.

  • Drive the operating cadence. Lead revenue performance reviews, quarterly business reviews, board reporting, and investor updates — ensuring leadership always has a clear, accurate picture of where we stand and where we’re going.

You are:
  • Strategic Thinking: You define the path, not just the analysis. You identify the highest-leverage opportunities, build conviction around them, and drive execution — not just recommendations.

  • Technical Rigor: You have expert financial modeling abilities — three-statement models, unit economics, scenario planning — and can build and own a SQL-based analytics layer end to end.

  • Commercial Acumen: You understand how healthcare businesses generate revenue — payer contracting, patient & payor reimbursement dynamics, network economics, and the levers that drive net revenue per encounter.

  • Product Orientation: You think in systems, write clear requirements, and push for tooling that scales. You’ve partnered with product and engineering teams to build infrastructure that drives commercial outcomes.

  • Executive Presence: You communicate with board-level polish. You distill complex analyses into clear narratives and present confidently to the CFO and executive leadership.

  • High Energy & Ownership: You thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, balance long-term strategy with urgent ad hoc requests, and measure yourself by outcomes — not outputs.

  • Operational Leadership: You know how to translate strategy into execution. You can lead complex, cross-functional initiatives, influence stakeholders across teams, and drive measurable operational improvements tied to revenue performance.

You have:
  • 8+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, strategic finance, FP&A, or a mix - healthcare experience strongly preferred.

  • Expert SQL skills you write complex queries fluently and have built reporting infrastructure that executives rely on.

  • Proven track record partnering with senior stakeholders and driving measurable commercial outcomes.

  • Familiarity with healthcare revenue dynamics — payer contracting, revenue cycle management (RCM), healthcare regulatory and data privacy requirements, reimbursement, network economics, preferred but not required.

  • Ability to be a “player-coach” — hands-on, proactive, and comfortable rolling up sleeves to get work done.

  • Able to work in NYC office 3-4 days/week.

Why Talkiatry:
  • Top-notch team: we’re a diverse, experienced group motivated to make a difference in mental health care

  • Collaborative environment: be part of building something from the ground up at a fast-paced startup

  • Excellent benefits: medical, dental, vision, effective day 1 of employment, 401K with match, generous PTO plus paid holidays, paid parental leave, and more!

  • Grow your career with us: hone your skills and build new ones with our Learning team as Talkiatry expands

  • It all comes back to care: we’re a mental health company, and we put our team’s well-being first

At Talkiatry, we are an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace and candidate experience. We strive to create an environment where everyone has a sense of belonging and purpose, and where we learn from the unique experiences of those around us.

Compensation Range: $175K - $200K
