Job description

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
Location: Burlington, VT
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports To: COO
Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000
WHO WE ARE
Open Approach is a values-driven, client-focused IT services company based in Burlington, Vermont. We deliver exceptional managed technology and phenomenal client support to organizations across New England and beyond. We are a fast-growing Managed Services Provider (MSP) delivering secure, compliant IT solutions to clients in regulated industries. Our team partners with businesses to design and implement IT, cybersecurity, and compliance frameworks that meet strict standards such as NIST, DFARS, and CMMC.
We earn our clients' business every month by staying relentlessly focused on their success. From the very first interaction to ongoing evolution, we aim to provide seamless experiences grounded in understanding, integrity, and practical solutions. We believe in making thoughtful, informed decisions and creating a lasting impact instead of quick fixes. This translates into long-term relationships with our clients that are rewarding on many levels.
At our core, we value equity, humility, excellence, accountability, innovation, and openness. These guide everything we do, from how we collaborate internally to how we support clients through complex technical challenges.
We are continually refining our team, enhancing our capabilities, and investing in talent to drive forward meaningful change. We embrace candid feedback, own our outcomes, and strive to improve every day. If that sounds like the kind of company you want to grow with, we would love to hear from you.
THE ROLE
Open Approach is hiring an Executive Assistant to support our CEO directly, with the role expected to grow into supporting our COO as well, alongside a meaningful piece of office administration for the wider team. This is a hands-on, high-trust role for someone who thrives on fast, clean execution and genuinely enjoys being the one who ensures nothing falls through the cracks.
THE SPECIFICS OF THE JOB
Responsibilities
โ€ข Manage multiple inboxes and a demanding calendar, keeping both organized, triaged, and free of conflicts.
โ€ข Draft clear, professional correspondence on behalf of the CEO.
โ€ข Plan and coordinate complex, multi-leg travel itineraries.
โ€ข Track tasks and commitments to completion, flagging what needs attention before it becomes urgent.
โ€ข Support recurring internal communications, including a company newsletter and monthly all-hands meeting.
โ€ข Take on a growing set of office administration responsibilities that support the whole team.
โ€ข Exercise sound judgment about what to handle independently and what to escalate.
Job Requirements
โ€ข Excellent written communication and meticulous attention to detail.
โ€ข Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, especially Outlook and Teams.
โ€ข A track record of managing competing priorities without dropping the ball.
โ€ข Absolute discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
โ€ข A proactive, resourceful approach to solving logistics and scheduling problems.
โ€ข Comfort working in-office in Burlington, Vermont, with occasional local travel for errands and event logistics.
BENEFITS
โ€ข Health, dental, and vision coverage with generous employer contributions.
โ€ข Company-sponsored Life, STD/LTD Disability, and Workers' Compensation.
โ€ข 401(k) with 4% match starting day one.
โ€ข Generous PTO (starting at 16 days, plus paid holidays).
โ€ข Fully paid parental leave.
โ€ข Smartphone stipend for on-call rotation.
โ€ข Weekly company lunches, coffee, snacks, and a pet-friendly office.
HOW NOT TO APPLY
โ€ข Forget to write a good cover letter, so that we have no way of knowing how articulate you really are.
โ€ข Include a lot of grammatical and structural errors in your letter and resume.
โ€ข Hide your personality so we can't tell a thing about you, other than that you are highly efficient in Microsoft Word.
If this sounds like the role you've been looking for, we'd love to hear from you.
