Job description

Strategic Account Executive

Head of Mobile Surveillance Business Unit

Location

Salt Lake City, Utah (Utah-based; some travel)

Reports To

VLCM Executive Leadership

Compensation

Competitive base + uncapped commission

Status

Full-time with benefits

About the Role

VLCM is launching a new Mobile Surveillance business unit - and we're hiring the person who will build it from the ground up.

Mobile Surveillance Units (MSUs) are one of the fastest-growing categories in physical security: deployable camera systems that protect construction sites, distributed operations, public events, municipal projects, and remote infrastructure. The category is expanding fast, buyers are ready, and most incumbents are stuck renting overpriced solar towers that customers never actually own.

We've partnered with a leading vendor in the space to bring a better economic model to market - customers own their equipment, deploy in days, and dramatically cut their security spend. Now we need a dedicated sales leader to build this business unit and make it real.

This is not a "here's your territory" job. This is a "build the business unit, run the deals, grow the partnerships, and hire the team under yourself as it scales" job. Uncapped upside on every deal, plus you head the practice as it grows into a real book of business with real P&L.

What You'll Lead
  • Close new business. You'll run deals end-to-end into construction, public sector, and distributed operations accounts - while building the practice around them.
  • Build partnerships. Work with VLCM's national reseller network to activate resellers on the MSU category. Recruit, enable, and grow partners as the practice scales.
  • Shape the offering. Work directly with our vendor partner on pricing, packaging, and positioning. Your voice from the field shapes what we sell.
  • Head the practice. As the business grows, so does your scope. First reps, then a real team, then the whole practice.
  • Build the systems. Sales process, deal registration, partner onboarding, forecasting - you'll design them and make them work.
Who You Are
  • Track record over tenure. You've closed deals. You've hit quota. Doesn't matter if you have two years or twelve - outcomes tell us who you are.
  • MSU or physical security background. Direct experience selling mobile surveillance units is ideal (LVT, WCCTV, or similar). Physical security industry experience (Verkada, Genetec, Avigilon, or similar) is a strong second.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity. No playbook exists yet. You'll build it.
  • Hungry, coachable, hands-on. Early-career hungry hunters welcome - if you know how to close and want a real shot at leading a business unit, this is the one.
  • Consultative seller. You explain cost math, not features. Buyers make big decisions when the numbers add up.
What We Offer
  • Uncapped commission. Every deal, every unit - you win when the business wins.
  • Real scope. Build and lead a business unit from the ground up. Team, P&L, and long-term upside as we scale.
  • Backed by a national VAR. You're not a founder alone in a garage. VLCM brings brand, install teams, and partner infrastructure. You bring the sales engine.
  • Full benefits. Health, dental, vision, life insurance, PTO, and paid holidays.
Working Conditions
  • Utah-based, primarily office and partnership-focused work.
  • Some travel to client sites, industry events, and vendor partner locations.
  • Full-time with occasional evening or weekend work around client needs.
  • Must pass background check and have a valid driver's license.
How to Apply

Send your resume and a short note about the biggest deal you've ever closed - and why - to [careers@vlcm.com]. We move quickly for the right person.
