Job Summary

The Outside Sales Executive identifies, makes contact with and builds relationships with potential customers (Estate Managers, Property Managers, Facility Managers, Contractors, and homeowners) to win new, profitable business in their assigned territory. This position is accountable for meeting assigned revenue and profit targets.

Essential Duties and Functions

  • Manages the sales cycle/process from lead generation through closing, effectively developing and managing sales pipeline to achieve annual sale target.
  • Researches markets, customers, and historical proposals to identify potential leads and untapped revenue opportunities that are aligned with the Company's strategy. Works with Sales Leaders and Operations to develop an annual new customer and sales growth plan with monthly, quarterly and annual metrics. Assesses, clarifies, and validates customer and market needs on an on-going basis.
  • Generates proposals and quotes in partnership with operations and finance to ensure the best balance against margin and close ratio. Responds to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and shepherds the completion of any RFP documents. 
  • Presents a compelling and persuasive partnership opportunity to customers. Develops strong, positive relationships with customers resulting in mutually beneficial and profitable sales activities.
  • Tracks all customer opportunities, leads, and customer communications. Complies with all required sales processes including operating within approved pricing parameters and keeping Service Titan records current.
  • Launches the customer on-boarding processes, including communicating any customer needs, identifying the timeline and scope of work, and otherwise transitioning the project and all key details to the Operations team.
  • Represents the Company at Trade Shows, online, and in any venue where a positive reputation and brand will be beneficial to the overall organization.
  • Provides high-level customer service and issue escalation to key customers/accounts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in face-to-face sales with a demonstrated record of successfully adding customers to a company’s portfolio.
  • Prior experience with Direct End User relationships highly preferred.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with both Service-based sales (including planned maintenance, service agreements, and time & materials proposals) and Installation-based sales (including RFP process, General Contractor coordination, etc.).

  • Communication: Able to effectively persuade and influence both entrepreneurial leaders and traditional leaders. Able to read, write and communicate professionally and effectively across diverse cultures. Able to present information and respond to questions with peers, managers, clients, customers, and the general public on technical subjects. Comfortable working independently and in a team setting. 
  • Reasoning Ability: Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and solve day-to-day level problems. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of data/instructions in numeric or diagram form with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Math Ability: Able to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Technology Skills: Word processing, spreadsheets, internet software, and email. Familiar/experienced with Client Relationship Management software (CRMs), and digital marketing and branding campaigns. Experience with Service Titan preferred.

Work Environment

The physical environment requires employee to work in a diverse array of environments, including a traditional office setting, manufacturing/fabrication facilities, customer offices, and construction jobsites. May be required to use and promote use of personal protective equipment to prevent injury. Will be driving on occasion to job sites from main office and different office locations.

Travel Required

  • Frequent travel to and from customer locations, job sites, or vender locations to make proposals, view customer needs/requirements, or evaluate job progress.
