Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Executive Director with management of center daily operations by:
  • Ensuring the health and safety of all children.
  • Ensuring all children in the center are always supervised.
  • Contributing to process and quality improvement initiatives based on research and center performance.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with children, parents, and families.
  • Increasing and maintaining full enrollment of each classroom.
  • Leading Teachers and Support Staff by ensuring all policies, procedures, safety, and accreditation standards are met and performed with excellency.
  • Scheduling Teachers and Support Staff to ensure coverage for daily operations is sufficient.
  • Interviewing eligible candidates for open positions.
  • Orienting and onboarding new Teachers and Support Staff.
  • Managing transportation process, including transporting school age children to and from schools.
Office Management Responsibilities
  • Manage children files according to state and accreditation standards.
  • Manage employee files according to state and accreditation standards.
  • Manage purchase order processes.
  • Process payments and monitor Academy receivables.
EDUCATION
Required
  • Child Care Director Credential
  • Associate Degree in Early Childhood Development, Business Administration, or closely related field, or appropriate college credit hours; nine (9) in child development and six (6) in management
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Development, Business Administration, or closely related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
  • Minimum 3 years of Early Childhood Education classroom experience with a licensed childcare provider.
  • Minimum 2 years of Early Childhood Education management experience, supervising employees with a licensed childcare provider.
Preferred
  • At least 5 years of Early Childhood Education classroom experience with a licensed childcare provider.
  • At least 3 years of Early Childhood Education management experience with a licensed childcare provider.
TRAINING AND LICENSES
  • Infant and Child CPR/First Aid
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record (past 2 years); Must be able to drive a 15 passenger van or minibus
Skills/ Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
  • Proficient knowledge of Texas Child Care Regulations Minimum Standards
  • Knowledge of Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) processes and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of Positive Discipline and Guidance
