Job description

Position Summary

GardaWorld is seeking an experienced and strategic Executive Protection Manager - English Canada to support the growth and operational delivery of our Executive Protection services across English-speaking Canada.

Reporting to the Director, Investigations & Risk Mitigation, the Executive Protection Manager will be responsible for overseeing executive protection operations, secure transportation programs, personnel deployment, training standards, client service, and operational quality assurance.

This role is suited for a seasoned executive protection professional who combines strong leadership skills with hands-on operational experience. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting high-profile protective assignments involving corporate executives, high-net-worth individuals, dignitaries, and special events while helping build a scalable and professional national EP program.

The role may require occasional travel within English-speaking Canada based on operational and client needs.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Manage and support executive protection operations across English-speaking Canada.
  • Oversee planning and execution of protective details, advances, residential security, event protection, and secure transportation operations.
  • Ensure operational readiness for short-notice and time-sensitive assignments.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, post orders, contingency plans, and protective protocols.
  • Conduct operational reviews and after-action assessments to support continuous improvement.

Personnel Management

  • Recruit, interview, onboard, and mentor Executive Protection Agents and Team Leads.
  • Maintain staffing rosters and support appropriate coverage for assignments.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development.
  • Ensure personnel maintain required provincial licensing, training, and certifications.
  • Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, and operational excellence.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a primary operational contact for executive protection clients in English Canada.
  • Participate in client meetings, site assessments, and risk consultations.
  • Ensure exceptional client service and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including branch operations, investigations, emergency preparedness, and security consulting teams.

Risk Management & Intelligence

  • Conduct or oversee threat, vulnerability, and risk assessments.
  • Review protective intelligence and open-source information relevant to client safety.
  • Ensure appropriate mitigation measures are implemented for identified risks.
  • Support incident management and emergency response processes.

Training & Quality Assurance

  • Support and maintain training standards for Executive Protection personnel.
  • Coordinate training in protective operations, surveillance awareness, de-escalation, emergency response, and protective driving.
  • Conduct field inspections, audits, and quality assurance reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with GardaWorld policies and applicable provincial legislation.

Business Development Support

  • Support the Director, Investigations & Risk Mitigation in expanding Executive Protection services across Canada.
  • Assist with proposals, pricing, staffing models, and operational planning for new opportunities.
  • Identify growth opportunities within existing client relationships.
  • Contribute to operational efficiency and service innovation.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 5 years of Executive Protection / Close Protection experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or management role within executive protection, law enforcement, military, or high-level private security operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-agent protective details and secure transportation operations.
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License in accordance with the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005 (PSISA).
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.
  • Recognized Executive Protection / Close Protection certification.
  • Valid Standard First Aid & CPR-C / AED certification.

Preferred

  • Background in law enforcement, military, protective services, or corporate security.
  • Protective driving / defensive driving certification.
  • Experience supporting C-suite executives, high-net-worth individuals, public figures, or government clients.
  • Knowledge of protective intelligence and threat assessment methodologies.
