Job description
Boulevard provides the first and only client experience platform for appointment-based, self-care businesses. We empower our customers to give their clients more of the magical moments that matter most.
Before launching in 2016, our founders spent months interviewing salon managers and working behind front desks to understand their pain points so we could design a modern, user-friendly platform that meets the unique needs of their business. Our roots may be in hair salons, but we are built for the broader self-care industry, including many types of salons, spas, medspa, barbershops, and more. Our technology not only helps our customers survive but thrive. Take a look at how we (and YOU) can make that happen.
We have an insatiable curiosity and embrace experimentation. We believe that simple solutions require the most sophistication, and we design each and every detail to maximize potential, power, and impact. Do our values match? Read through our story and what we value the most.
Our team values and celebrates our diverse backgrounds. Being open about who we are and what we do allows us to do the best work of our lives. We believe in equal opportunity for all, and you should too.
Come do the best work of your life at Boulevard.
Boulevard is looking for a Senior Executive Business Partner to serve as a dedicated, Nashville-based operational partner to the CEO. This role exists to create meaningful CEO leverage: protecting and strategically sequencing the CEO's time, managing priority communications, strengthening high-value external relationships, preparing the CEO for key decisions and appearances, and ensuring follow-through across the Office of the CEO.
This is a senior EBP role, not a traditional Executive Assistant role and not a shared support model. The ideal person is deeply trusted, highly autonomous, and comfortable operating in the gray area between executive support, executive operations, external relationship management, and occasional personal logistics that directly preserve CEO focus and availability.
The CEO needs a partner who can help him spend more of his time on the highest-leverage work for the business, including R&D, product, AI, Board and investor relationships, and external industry moments. This person should be able to anticipate what is coming, keep his calendar and communications running smoothly, and reduce the number of open loops the CEO has to personally hold.
This role will work closely with the Executive Support team and relevant partners across Finance, BizOps, Legal, Procurement, People, R&D, GTM, and Communications.
Executive support community of practice
This role is part of Boulevard's Executive Support team and is expected to contribute to a community of practice focused on craft excellence and consistency across calendar strategy, inbox and communication systems, meeting hygiene, travel and event planning, stakeholder management, executive briefs, and feedback loops that help simplify and scale the company's operating system.
What you'll do here:
CEO Strategic Partnership, Calendar Architecture & Executive Leverage
- Own the CEO's complex and dynamic calendar, ensuring time is aligned to the company's highest-priority work: R&D/product/AI focus time, Board and investor moments, key customer and partner relationships, executive decision forums, company operating rhythms, and high-leverage external opportunities.
- Treat the CEO's time as a strategic portfolio. Proactively sequence focus time, prep windows, relationship-building, decision forums, travel, and recovery time rather than simply responding to incoming requests.
- Build deep context on company priorities, OKRs, product and R&D work, Board/investor expectations, customer and market signals, and executive team dynamics so that calendar and meeting decisions reflect business impact.
- Proactively manage conflicts and tradeoffs by bringing clear options and recommendations, including when to sequence, delegate, shorten, defer, decline, route async, or assign to a better owner.
- Prepare concise CEO briefs ahead of key meetings and appearances. Briefs should clarify context, why it matters, decisions needed, open questions, risks or tradeoffs, relevant pre-reads, relationship context, and recommended next steps where appropriate.
- Maintain high meeting hygiene and readiness: clear purpose, right attendees, correct duration, timely pre-reads, clean logistics, and explicit follow-up owners.
- Act as an early-warning system for CEO overcommitment, missed prep windows, unresolved decisions, relationship risks, or meetings that are consuming time without clear business value.
Inbox, Correspondence & Priority Communication Management
- Own a reliable system for CEO inbox and priority communication triage across internal and external stakeholders, including S-team, Board members, investors, prospective investors, strategic partners, customers, industry leaders, candidates, and advisors.
- Establish and maintain clear VIP filters, labels, trackers, and response rhythms so that critical threads are acknowledged, routed, drafted, escalated, or closed with minimal CEO follow-up.
- Draft, edit, and route correspondence in the CEO's voice, including scheduling responses, follow-ups, thank-you notes, partner/investor replies, event-related outreach, and internal alignment notes.
- Use judgment to distinguish high-value external opportunities from low-signal sales, vendor, networking, or media noise. Escalate true opportunities with concise context and a recommendation.
- Maintain a priority communications log for open loops, owner, deadline, status, and next step; ensure high-stakes commitments do not disappear after the first email or Slack thread.
- Coordinate with Internal Comms, Legal, People, Finance, and other owners when responses require sensitive handling, approval, or cross-functional input.
- Ensure the CEO can trust that important communications are moving without needing to manually inspect every thread.
External Network, Investor & Industry Relationship Leverage
- Build and maintain an operating system for the CEO's external network, including investors, prospective investors, Board members, founders, operators, industry leaders, strategic partners, customer executives, advisors, and relevant ecosystem contacts.
- Create and maintain relationship trackers, meeting histories, follow-up logs, and context notes so the CEO can engage high-value relationships with continuity and specificity.
- Proactively identify high-leverage meetings for industry events, conferences, investor visits, customer moments, and ecosystem gatherings by reviewing attendee lists, sponsor lists, portfolio companies, and strategic relationship maps before the CEO has to ask.
- For external events and customer/industry gatherings, tee up target meeting lists, recommended outreach, scheduling blocks, briefings, logistics, and follow-up sequences in advance.
- Map and manage CEO external appearances, including speaking opportunities, award ceremonies, customer or partner events, podcasts, panels, investor events, and other moments where CEO presence may create business value.
- Partner with Comms, Marketing, GTM, Investor Relations/Finance, and functional leaders to evaluate which external moments are worth CEO time and which should be delegated, declined, or handled async.
- Prepare external relationship briefs that include relationship history, business relevance, recommended objective, talking points, open asks, and follow-up plan.
Event, Appearance, Travel & Onsite Handling
- Own CEO travel, itineraries, logistics, transportation, lodging, rooming, timing, onsite details, and contingency planning with meticulous attention to executive energy and business value.
- Serve as onsite handler for high-stakes in-person commitments and appearances, ensuring the CEO is where he needs to be, with the right prep, materials, people, and timing.
- Create run-of-show documents, briefing packets, contact sheets, location details, meeting routes, meal or rooming plans, and last-mile logistics for conferences, investor meetings, customer visits, Board-related travel, offsites, and external appearances.
- Manage the CEO event and appearance pipeline in partnership with Comms, Marketing, GTM, People, and executive leadership: intake, evaluation, recommendation, scheduling, prep, onsite execution, and follow-up.
- Coordinate guest appearances, external speaking opportunities, awards, and customer or industry moments with a clear view of why CEO presence matters and what outcome the business is trying to drive.
- Provide limited personal/logistics support when directly tied to CEO availability, work travel, urgent business needs, or in-person commitments. This is not a traditional personal assistant role, but the right person should be comfortable handling occasional crossover logistics with discretion and pragmatism.
- Ensure post-event follow-up is captured and completed: thank-you notes, relationship tracker updates, next meetings, intros, materials sent, and internal recap where appropriate.
Office of the CEO Workflows, Approvals & Executive Support Practice
- Own the operating hygiene for Office of the CEO workflows, including priority approvals, document routing, signature processes, procurement requests, vendor-related items, and other executive workflow queues where CEO action is required.
- Partner with Legal, Procurement, Finance, Security, People, and business owners to ensure requests reaching the CEO are complete, well-contextualized, and routed through the correct process.
- Identify recurring workflow friction and recommend improvements that reduce unnecessary CEO touches, unclear ownership, repeated questions, or last-minute approval escalations.
- Contribute to the Executive Support community of practice by sharing systems, templates, and communication norms.
Confidentiality & Judgment
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and excellent judgment, including Board and investor topics, product and R&D priorities, people matters, customer issues, incidents, security or privacy topics, and personal logistics.
- Operate as a trusted extension of the CEO: anticipate needs, identify risks early, protect focus, reduce noise, and get in front of issues before they create executive or organizational drag.
- Maintain independence and objectivity. This role must be able to support the CEO's judgment and priorities directly while partnering productively across the Executive Support team.
What you'll need to thrive:
- 10+ years of executive support or executive operations experience, including 5+ years supporting a CEO, founder, or other C-level executive in a high-growth environment.
- Nashville-based, with the ability to provide in-person support for CEO commitments, external appearances, investor/customer moments, and urgent business needs as required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high-stakes CEO calendar and inbox with exceptional accuracy, judgment, confidentiality, and follow-through.
- Strong written communication skills, including experience drafting executive correspondence, concise briefs, meeting summaries, talking points, and follow-up notes.
- Experience managing senior external stakeholders such as Board members, investors, prospective investors, strategic partners, customers, advisors, founders, operators, or industry leaders.
- Strong business acumen; able to understand company priorities, OKRs, and stakeholder dynamics well enough to make sound calendar and prioritization calls.
- Strong project and process management skills, with the ability to bring order to ambiguity, define owners and timelines, and keep multiple open loops moving without constant direction.
- High emotional intelligence, executive presence, discretion, and maturity in sensitive situations.
- High proficiency with Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, calendar/inbox systems, project management tools, and modern workflow tools. Familiarity with tools such as Zip, DocuSign, CRMs, or relationship-tracking systems is a plus.
Preferred skills:
- Prior experience as a dedicated CEO/founder EBP in a growth-stage SaaS, technology, marketplace, or product-led company.
- Exposure to Board processes, investor relations, fundraising, industry events, or high-stakes external relationship management.
- Experience supporting external speaking, conferences, awards, customer events, executive appearances, and media/podcast/panel opportunities.
- Proven ability to harness Ai to create more effective and efficient workflows or processes to increase executive leverage.
- Working familiarity with SaaS operating concepts and metrics such as ARR, retention, churn, NRR, LTV/CAC, pipeline, customer segments, budget cycles, headcount planning, and Board/investor priorities.
- Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, R&D, Finance, BizOps, Legal, Procurement, People, Comms, and GTM leaders.
How we'll take care of you:
At Boulevard, we work hard to structure compensation in a way that balances internal equity with local market competitiveness, and we're happy to share a good-faith estimate of the base salary range for this role. For U.S. based candidates, the anticipated base salary range is $117,400 - $138,200 per year. In addition to this base compensation, this role may be eligible to participate in a variable compensation program. Final compensation will vary based on a variety of factors which include but are not limited to applicable experience, location, and final leveling.
In addition to the wonderful people you'll get to work with (meet some of them here!) and challenging projects that'll push you - Boulevard is here to make sure you're always at the top of your game emotionally, mentally, and physically.
