Albemarle is hiring for an Operations Manager. This position is in‑office and located in Silver Peak, Nevada.

Position Summary

The Operations Manager is a member of the site leadership team and has accountability for safety, quality, and productivity of the Operations organization at the Silver Peak site. The Operations Manager will be responsible for leading an organization of approximately 30 personnel. The position requires a range of management and technical skills and a thorough understanding of plant systems, processes, policies, and procedures.

What You Will Do
  • Drives compliance to Albemarle Standards, Environmental regulations, MSHA regulations and HSE policies
  • Creates and maintains a respectful and inclusive work environment and maintains Albemarle’s core values
  • Develops and leads implementation of the strategic direction for Operations
  • Provides leadership and direction for the operating areas including daily production execution to plan
  • Provides leadership and guidance for meeting cost, yield and quality requirements
  • Drives Operational Discipline and Manufacturing Excellence
  • Leads the organization to drive incident investigations to root cause and implement corrective actions utilizing the hierarchy of control
  • Coaches and develops direct reports and cultivates an atmosphere of learning and development
  • Develops and maintains Operations KPIs to drive data‑based decision making and improvements
  • Drives continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
What You Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated influential leadership skills
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills
  • Experience coaching and developing others
  • Strong problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and with individuals at all levels within an organization

Preferred:

  • Prior manufacturing experience, including Line Leadership
  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management
  • Experience with MSHA compliance
  • Lean Management or Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Knowledge of HR process, procedures, and policies
