About the role

Develop, implement, and recommend sales strategies for the assigned region. This position will manage the sales agent network and focus them on creating demand for Lighting Control products, increasing market penetration, improving product mix of strategic products to drive profitable growth, and achieving the region’s sales goals.


Responsibilities
  • Manage, coach, train, and mentor a team of sales agents in your region while working with your colleagues to drive profitability for the brand. Provide sales and technical coaching to ensure that sales agents have the requisite skills to achieve sales goals.
  • Responsible for the overall sales performance, of controls solutions, in the assigned region.
  • Determine and implement the region’s sales strategy, within the context of the broader Controls business strategy.
  • Develop a comprehensive sales plan for the assigned region focusing on achievement of region sales objectives. Primary focus on sales growth with tier 1 agent markets.
  • Support sales growth in both the Leviton National Account and Electrical Distribution teams.
  • Conduct field visits to assist your assigned agent’s sales team and drive demand for Controls products (field visits should account for 60% of RSM work time).
  • Educate the Architects, engineers, contractors, and end users on the value of Control products in the region.
  • Manage the region’s budget and assist in determining ideal sales territory size to achieve maximum profitability and sales.
  • Coordinate the use of internal resources to develop key business opportunities.
  • Ensure brand representation at industry trade shows and other similar events including agents trips to Leviton Experience Centers.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, relationship-building, and relationship management skills
  • Outstanding oral, written and verbal communication/presentation skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software is required, specifically:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • High level of comfort in communicating with every level of an organization from top level executives to field personnel
  • Strong business acumen and negotiation skills
  • Financially competent with respect to managing the region’s budget and analysis of region performance
  • Demonstrated success as a member of the Leviton sales force or sales force in an equally complex industry

Education & Experience
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience selling Leviton products or prior experience as a Regional/District Sales Manager

Travel
  • 50%-60%
