What is an executive job?

Executive jobs refer to high-level leadership roles within an organization, such as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Operating Officer (COO), and other C-suite or senior management positions. These roles are responsible for setting the company's strategic direction, making major corporate decisions, and managing overall operations and resources. Executives often lead teams, oversee departments, and represent the company to stakeholders, investors, and the public. Their work is critical to driving organizational growth, innovation, and long-term success.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an executive?

To thrive as an Executive, you need extensive leadership experience, strategic thinking, business acumen, and typically an advanced degree such as an MBA. Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, data analytics tools, and often professional certifications in management or industry-specific areas is beneficial. Exceptional communication, decision-making, and emotional intelligence are soft skills that distinguish top executives. These skills are crucial for setting organizational vision, driving results, and fostering high-performing teams in complex, competitive environments.

What are some common challenges faced by executives when leading cross-functional teams?

Executives often encounter challenges in aligning diverse departments with varying priorities and communication styles. Navigating these differences requires strong leadership, diplomacy, and the ability to foster collaboration among team members with unique expertise. Additionally, executives must ensure that everyone remains focused on shared organizational goals, balancing strategic vision with day-to-day operational demands. Successfully managing these dynamics not only advances business objectives but also builds a more cohesive and adaptable leadership team.

Job description

Summary:

The Advertising Sales Executive is a member of a high-performing, team-oriented group of media marketing and sales professionals. In this fast-paced, high-energy role, you will be responsible for maintaining and growing an established book of business, while aggressively pursuing new local business partners.

Your focus will be the East Santa Rosa territory-a thriving, target-rich region packed with a diverse mix of retail and professional services. This position is perfect for a self-motivated hunter who can bring a sense of urgency, leverage a comprehensive multimedia toolkit, and build deep roots in the local business community.

What you will do:

  • Manage a dynamic daily schedule. Start your mornings checking emails and voicemails before hitting the pavement for in-person client meetings, relationship building, and proactive prospecting

  • Act as a marketing consultant, utilizing our full media toolbox to create custom, effective pipelines for local businesses to help them succeed

  • Hit core weekly performance metrics to keep your pipeline full, aiming for 50 to 100 cold calls per week to secure high-value virtual or desirable in-person meetings

  • Build and pursue a robust sales funnel. Move prospects from initial contact to close by presenting smart, data-driven print, digital, events, and social marketing solutions

  • Retain your current customers by providing exceptional, high-touch customer service and delivering measurable advertising results

What you will bring:

  • At least 2 years of experience in sales, advertising, or marketing. Media or sales industry experience is required

  • A fast-paced, proactive mindset. In this role, every day is different-you must be highly flexible, able to pivot quickly when things don't go as planned, and drive timelines forward

  • A track record of closing deals and a "thick skin" to handle the natural rejections that come with aggressive prospecting and cold-calling

  • Exceptional ability to engage with a diverse range of business owners and professional clients in person, over the phone, via text, and through email

  • Familiarity with a wide portfolio of advertising solutions (digital, print, social media, and events) to build the right proposals for the right clients

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required; experience with CRM management platforms is a plus

Benefits and Compensation:

The hourly wage is $24.00 + cell stipend and commission (OTE $85K-$125K). Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, the Company offers eligible employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401k, as well as paid time off and select paid holidays (all benefits are based on eligibility).
