Position Summary
The Director, Corporate Accounting, leads the corporate consolidation process for the global McCormick business ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting across all business units and legal entities. The role is responsible for the preparation of consolidated Global financial results for Senior Finance Leadership (including CFO and VPs of IR, Corp FP&A, Corporate Controllership), Management Committee and other financial users.
This role serves as a key finance leader supporting large integrations, with responsibility for aligning financial reporting processes, consolidation activities, accounting policies, controls and data flows. The role will support the development and execution of the integration roadmap for acquired entities into the company's consolidation and reporting structure. The role requires partnerships with integration management, business leaders, IT, controllership, FP&A, tax, treasury, and external advisors to align acquisition-related finance activities.
This role oversees complex technical consolidation matters in a multinational environment and requires a strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC related reporting matters and related control considerations. Technical matters expertise in areas such as foreign currency translation, non-controlling interests, intercompany accounting, amongst others.
This role oversees team responsible for the administration and oversight of the Global corporate-wide reporting and consolidation system (HFM) including actuals, budgets, forecasts and related financial statements.
Responsibilities
  • Oversees team responsible for coordinating the Global Consolidation process across all regions and segments including problem solving any consolidation or reporting issues with senior finance leaders in both corporate functions and regional teams.
  • Lead and support large integrations including aligning financial reporting processes, consolidation activities, accounting policies, controls and data flows. The role will support the development and execution of the integration roadmap for acquired entities into the company's consolidation and reporting structure.
  • Prepare, analyze and review Global Financial results / insights for Senior Leadership. Communicate clearly with executive leadership, including translating complex accounting and integration matters into actionable business insights.
  • Direct and oversee all activities related to the Hyperion Financial Management consolidation and reporting system and related controls (including budgets, forecasts, legal entity structures, financial restatement processes, management reporting requirements, amongst others).
  • Provide technical guidance and practical solutions on complex consolidation, accounting, and reporting matters.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing consolidations team.
  • Build strong relationships with senior finance leaders, regional controllers, business unit finance teams, and integration stakeholders.
  • Drive improvements in systems, processes and analytics. Lead and coordinate initiatives that benefit both the Corporate functions and the regional partners. Maintain and enhance consolidation policies, procedures, and controls to support a scalable and efficient close process.
  • Support ad hoc projects and requests (IR, Tax, Treasury, Corporate FP&A, HR, Audit, others)

Qualifications
  • BS/BA Accounting
  • CPA Preferred
  • Significant experience in corporate accounting, consolidations, external reporting, or controllership roles.
  • 10+ years finance experience with a minimum of 5+ years of senior level accounting experience.
  • Experience leading financial consolidation and control activities in a complex, multinational, public organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate complex accounting / finance processes and related analytics is required.
  • Ability to influence and interact effectively with all levels and areas of the organization is required. Excellent communication skills.
  • Technical accounting expertise: Applies strong accounting judgment to complex consolidation and acquisition-related matters.
  • Integration execution: Can translate acquisition goals into practical financial reporting processes, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Change leadership: Leads teams through ambiguity, transformation, and evolving priorities.
  • Collaboration: Works effectively across functions, regions, and leadership levels.
  • Process discipline: Builds scalable, controlled, and efficient close and reporting processes.

Base Salary: $121,900 - $219,410
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick's Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan. In addition to a competitive compensation package, permanent employees of McCormick are eligible for our extensive Total Rewards programs that include:
