Sales Executive in Training (Future Sales Executive)

Company: Diesel Direct

Diesel Direct, the nation’s leading mobile on-site fueling company, is seeking highly driven, competitive, and motivated future sales talent to join our Sales Executive in Training program. This role is intentionally designed to develop high-potential professionals into successful outside sales leaders within the fuel, fleet, lubricant, DEF, and energy solutions industry. Through a structured development program, candidates will receive hands-on exposure to sales, operations, logistics, customer relationship management, and business development before managing their own territory and book of business.

Since 1998, Diesel Direct has built a reputation for delivering reliable mobile fueling, DEF, lubricant, fleet fueling, generator fueling, emergency response, and fuel management solutions to customers nationwide. We combine leading technology, operational excellence, and a customer-first mindset to help businesses operate more efficiently and effectively.

What Makes This Opportunity Different
  • Direct career path into a future outside sales executive role
  • Extensive hands-on training across customer service, operations, logistics, and consultative selling
  • Exposure to high-level customer relationships and strategic account management
  • Opportunity to learn a recession-resistant industry with strong long-term growth potential
  • Collaborative, competitive, fast-paced culture focused on winning as a team
  • Ability to contribute to revenue growth while learning from experienced sales leaders
Core Responsibilities
  • Learn the fuel, fleet, lubricants, DEF, and energy solutions industry from the ground up
  • Train alongside established Sales Executives to understand Diesel Direct’s sales process, customer strategies, pricing structures, and operational capabilities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective customers through regular communication and site visits
  • Support Sales Executives with account management, customer onboarding, service reviews, and territory growth initiatives
  • Prospect and identify new opportunities within existing accounts and target markets
  • Collaborate with operations, logistics, dispatch, customer service, billing, and supply teams to ensure outstanding customer execution
  • Assist with customer setup processes, tank placements, equipment coordination, route setup, and service implementation
  • Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally while creating long-term customer loyalty
  • Conduct goodwill visits and post-delivery follow-up communications to ensure exceptional customer experience
  • Analyze accounts and identify opportunities to improve profitability, service efficiency, and share of wallet
  • Develop business acumen and learn to position value-based solutions rather than competing solely on price
  • Participate in structured coaching, sales meetings, role development, and performance reviews throughout the training program
What We Are Looking For
  • Self-motivated individuals with a strong desire to build a high-level sales career
  • Competitive, confident, and hungry professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments
  • A resourceful “figure-it-out” mentality and strong problem-solving ability
  • Team-first attitude with strong relationship-building and collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage priorities effectively
  • Ownership mentality with strong accountability and decisiveness
  • Comfort discussing business value, pricing, and customer needs
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while remaining highly coachable
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience in sales, customer service, business development, athletics, military leadership, or another customer-facing role
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, energy, industrial, or service industries is a plus but not required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms such as Salesforce
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally within assigned territory
Ideal Candidate Profile

We are not simply hiring for a support role. We are recruiting future top-performing Sales Executives and sales leaders who are eager to learn the business, contribute immediately, and grow into managing their own territory. The ideal candidate is ambitious, resilient, coachable, competitive, and motivated by building relationships, solving problems, and winning business.
