Job description

This position is located in the Office of Administration, Executive Office for Immigration Review, U.S. Department of Justice. The incumbent performs a variety of special assignments and acts as a personal representative of the Executive in responding to complex and unique situations that arise from operations of the EOIR.
Qualifications:To qualify for the position of Executive Staff Advisor, at GS-0301-14, you must meet the qualification requirements listed below.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS - 13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level.
FOR THE GS-14 LEVEL:
Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one or more full-time years (12-months) of specialized work experience, equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, performing the following duties:
  1. Attending high-level leadership meetings and capturing critical policy changes, operational mandates, and cross-component directives to deliver concise, actionable briefings to senior executives;
  2. Translating complex, mission-critical EOIR requirements into balanced and effective administrative support strategies;
  3. Coordinating with multiple DOJ offices and stakeholders to align processes, resolve operational issues, and support mission-critical objectives;
  4. Designing, maintaining, and interpreting a high-level executive dashboard to inform leadership decision-making;
  5. Tracking key performance indicators, including budget burn rates, procurement timelines, facility capacity, and HR onboarding metrics; AND
  6. Reviewing workforce metrics to ensure recruitment pipelines, staffing availability, and retention strategies support evolving caseload demands.
