Overview

Job Summary:

Demonstrates through behavior Decatur Morgan Hospital's mission, vision and values.

Plans, organizes, directs, staffs and controls the activities of the Human Resources and Employee Health Department.  Ensures all functions managed are in compliance with required federal, state and local statutes. Builds cohesive relationships with internal and external customers and ancillary departments. Develops and manages departmental budgets. Supports and advances the mission and goals of the organization.

ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities / Essential Functions

1.     Directs the Human Resources strategic planning process.

2.     Prepares and operates within budget for the department.

3.     Maintains current knowledge of JCAHO standards and assists department with                meeting those requirements.

4.     Oversees the annual employee evaluation process to ensure timely                                     submission/completion and oversees annual updates of job descriptions.

5.     Continuously evaluates department process to improve quality of service.

6.     Oversees the current department standards and procedures.

7.     Advises physicians, administration, and department directors on HR matters.

8.     Enforces hospital/department policies and procedures.

9.     Directs employment process to include selection, orientation, counseling,                         evaluating, and discipline procedures.

10.  Aligns employee reward and recognition programs to support organizational                    objectives.

11.  Coordinates all legal matters related to the Human Resources function.

12.  Evaluates data, industry trends and plans for new/improved procedures.

13.  Collaborates with senior leaders and department directors on staffing plans to                  meet service needs.

14.  Serves as HR advisor to oversight committees such as Service Excellence, HIPAA                and Corporate Compliance.

QualificationsMinimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:

Education:  Bachelor's Degree required with Master's Degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum five years of experience in an HR management role; ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written.  Excellent organizational skills and

Exhibits diplomacy and time management skills.
