Job description

Subscription Analytics & Data Analyst
Red Games Co. is seeking an experienced and strategic thinker in data analytics with deep expertise in subscription-based mobile games. This is a critical role within the organization, responsible for shaping the company's subscription growth strategy, influencing product and marketing investment decisions, and establishing the analytical foundation that drives long-term business performance.
As an expert in subscription analytics, this individual will serve as the primary authority on subscriber acquisition, engagement, retention, monetization, and lifetime value optimization across our portfolio. They will work closely with Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Executive Leadership to identify growth opportunities, quantify business risks, and ensure decisions are grounded in data.
We are not looking for someone to grow into the role. We are looking for someone who has successfully managed subscription analytics initiatives within mobile gaming, or possesses deep analytical experience in subscription-based models that can transfer over to the games space.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the studio's subject matter expert on subscription analytics, including acquisition, conversion, retention, churn, engagement, lifetime value, pricing, offer strategy, and revenue optimization.
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Executive Leadership to define data-driven strategies that maximize player value and subscription growth.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive subscription analytics framework that informs business planning, forecasting, and investment decisions.
  • Own the development, standardization, and governance of KPIs across subscription products and live-service game initiatives.
  • Identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities within player behavior and subscription performance, proactively recommending strategic actions.
Advanced Analytics & Data Science
  • Design and build predictive models using Python, R, SQL, and statistical techniques to forecast subscriber growth, churn, revenue, and player lifetime value.
  • Develop segmentation models and behavioral analyses that uncover actionable player insights and monetization opportunities.
  • Lead analyses that influence product roadmaps, feature prioritization, pricing strategies, and marketing investments.
  • Translate large-scale game, marketing, and subscription datasets into clear recommendations for stakeholders at every level of the organization.
  • Design, implement, and analyze A/B tests focused on subscription conversion, onboarding, paywalls, pricing, retention programs, promotional offers, and win-back campaigns.
  • Establish experimentation best practices, governance processes, and measurement methodologies across the studio.
  • Define success metrics, evaluate results, and ensure learnings are operationalized into future product and marketing initiatives.
  • Drive continuous optimization efforts that improve subscription KPIs, player engagement, and overall revenue performance.
  • Develop and maintain scalable reporting systems, dashboards, data models, and automated analytics workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, accessibility, governance, and operational efficiency throughout the analytics ecosystem.
  • Contribute to technical planning and requirements for analytics platforms, data warehouses, business intelligence systems, and reporting infrastructure.
  • Champion best practices for analytics engineering, data integrity, documentation, monitoring, and performance optimization.
  • Foster a data-driven culture by educating stakeholders on metrics, experimentation, and analytical best practices.
  • AI can be used as a tool to help speed up processes, but this person knows how to solve nearly all requests separately from AI and can ensure trust and accuracy in any AI work.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of analytics experience with significant hands-on expertise in subscription-based mobile games, or equivalent transferable experience in high-volume subscription analytics.
  • Demonstrated ownership of subscription analytics programs, including churn modeling, lifecycle analytics, LTV forecasting, pricing optimization, and retention strategy.
  • Proven experience influencing product, marketing, and business strategy through data-driven insights.
  • Extensive experience working with large-scale game telemetry, player behavior data, and subscription business models.
  • Strong understanding of mobile attribution ecosystems, privacy frameworks, measurement limitations, and mitigation strategies.
  • Expert-level SQL skills required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python or R for analytics, modeling, forecasting, and automation.
  • Experience designing and maintaining analytics data models and reporting infrastructure.
  • Deep experience with business intelligence and visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, analytics engineering practices, and data pipeline architecture.
  • Experience partnering directly with software engineering teams to implement analytics instrumentation and data collection strategies.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based analytics environments and modern data platforms is strongly preferred.
Why This Role Matters
This role sits at the intersection of Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Business Strategy. The insights, systems, and recommendations generated by this position will directly influence player retention, subscription growth, monetization performance, and long-term company success. The individual in this role will help define not only what decisions are made, but how the organization uses data to make them.
This position is a hybrid role bases in our Salt Lake City, UT office.
