Job description

Senior Project Manager โ€“ Lead the execution of complex substation projects within GE Vernovaโ€™s Grid Systems Integration business. Coordinate engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, and customerโ€‘facing activities to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and in line with quality and contractual requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Perform project scope review and compare with GEV quote upon transfer of the project file from the Commercial group to Project Management.
  • Lead the project kickโ€‘off meeting with all internal contributors and assign roles and responsibilities.
  • Lead the customer kickโ€‘off meeting to communicate the nature of the work that will be done and clarify any issues in the order.
  • Lead the overall execution of complex substation projects, ensuring delivery in line with contractual scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Consolidate and coordinate activities across multiple subโ€‘projects and workstreams, creating an integrated project view and ensuring alignment of priorities, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Drive project planning and execution across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, construction, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Establish and maintain effective project governance, including project reviews, action tracking, decision logs, escalation management, and leadership reporting.
  • Monitor project performance against key metrics and proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks, issues, delays, and cost impacts that could affect successful delivery.
  • Support subโ€‘project leaders and functional teams in resolving crossโ€‘functional challenges, removing execution barriers, and maintaining focus on criticalโ€‘path activities.
  • Manage customer communication and stakeholder coordination to ensure transparency, alignment, and timely resolution of technical, commercial, and executionโ€‘related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, internal processes, quality standards, and applicable regulatory and safety expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead change management activities, including evaluation of scope changes, schedule impacts, cost implications, and associated approvals or customer notifications.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate, timely project status updates, forecasts, and executive summaries to leadership, highlighting performance, risks, decisions required, and recovery actions where needed.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the project team and interfacing functions.
  • Support project closing activities, including final deliverables, lessons learned, financial closure, and transition to warranty or service phases where applicable.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in engineering, business, operations, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Lean, Six Sigma) preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of project management experience relevant to the role, preferably in substations, grid infrastructure, energy, or other large and complex industrial projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects with multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and interdependencies.
  • Experience working in crossโ€‘functional and international project environments.
  • Fluent in English is required. French speaking is an asset.

  • Strong background in project management methodologies, tools, and governance frameworks.
