Position Summary

SRS Acquiom is a recognized thought leader in M&A space and an emerging thought leader in other adjacent spaces, with proprietary insights and data-driven content that differentiates us in the market. As we expand our brand, we are seeking a Director, Content Strategy to lead and evolve our thought leadership engine.

This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution. The Director will own the end-to-end lifecycle of thought leadership: from identifying high-impact opportunities, to shaping editorial direction through collaboration with other marketing colleagues (brand, demand gen, SEO, etc.), managing production and publishing of designed and web-based content, and managing the vast content library. The right candidate will have meaningful experience and passion for creating short and long-form thought leadership, leveraging both data and subject matter expertise to drive impact for the business. This individual will partner closely with subject matter experts and manage third parties vendors to identify and translate complex insights into compelling, business-driven narratives that support marketing, sales, and brand authority.

As an ideal candidate, you will be both a strategist and a hands-on operator: someone who can define where we should lead or add to the conversation on timely topics, while also rolling up their sleeves to write, edit, refine, and guide content through approval cycles to completion. You are highly agile, self-directed, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams while maintaining a clear connection between content and business outcomes. You adeptly foster connections at all business levels, collaborating to create, while simultaneously guiding decisions through thoughtful executive communication.


Salary: $150k and $160k, depending on level of experience.

Location: This is a remote role for candidates located within the Continental United States and requires a minimum of one week (25%) of each month traveling to and working from our headquarters in Denver, CO
Primary ResponsibilitiesThought Leadership Strategy & Opportunity Identification
  • Develop strategy for thought leadership content leveraging deep knowledge of business goals, campaign strategies, SEO/SEM, and earned media strategies.
  • Ability to proactively identify high-value content opportunities based on market trends, news cycles, proprietary data, and business prioritiesโ€”and translate them into a clear, differentiated editorial strategy that aligns with business and marketing goals.
  • Understand audience behaviors, content needs, and consumption patterns by staying in tune with the market and competitive activity. Strong knowledge of evolving content consumption by channel and the impact of content form.
  • Develop thought leadership content with legs, ensuring that we can maximize the impact of a single piece and leverage the existing library in new and innovative ways while creating reader journeys that drive the business.
End-to-End Content Orchestration & Project Management
  • Responsible for managing by influence to deliver content on time, on budget, and aligned with key stakeholders and strategic objectives.
  • Strong ability to work with subject matter experts to uncover, shape, and elevate insights into compelling narratives without losing accuracy or authority.
  • Work cross-functionally with the web and campaigns teams to publish content.
  • Work with internal SME and external writing resources. Managing freelancers or agencies as needed. Strong budget management skills.
Editorial Leadership & Content Quality Control
  • Content governance, managing and guiding content ensuring consistency and alignment with brand voice and identity.
  • Exceptional editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to both produce written content outlines and web copy directly and act as editor and coach, guiding writers to ensure clarity, consistency, and strategic alignment.
Content Lifecycle Optimization & Performance Mindset
  • Manage and evolve our content library: refreshing, repackaging, and optimizing assets based on performance, SEO, and changing market relevance.
  • Collaborate with the web and SEO teams to continually update content and test new strategies to drive SEO, manage reader journeys and find new opportunities for organic lead generation.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • 8+ years' B2B content marketing experience, with a majority of the time focused on thought leadership content
  • BA or BS degree from a four-year college/university
  • Strong research skills, superior attention to detail and a proven ability to translate data into actionable strategic recommendations
  • Collaborative, team-player, natural relationship builder
  • Highly flexible, curious problem-solver, able to move quickly and think creatively
  • Self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to lead the creation and ongoing implementation of a content strategic plan and execution
  • Exceptional written and executive level verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and communicate complex ideas
  • Strong understanding of how content is tied to campaign strategy and lead generation.
  • Able to lead by influence, bringing strategy to the forefront and providing impact at every stage of development.
  • Strong understanding of B2B marketing best practices, and a deep curiosity for staying on top of the latest trends in content strategy.
  • Working knowledge of SEO/SEM best practices and their impact on content and content strategy.
  • Experience managing external vendors and partners
  • Exceptional project management skills. Proven ability to successfully manage multiple, concurrent projects. Experience using tools like Asana and/or Smartsheet area is a plus.

  • Experience producing content across multiple form factors: short form content, long form content, web content, social media, video, etc.
