Responsibilities

The Clinical Nurse II in our Medical Detox Unit (MDU) independently provides patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation from admission through transfer or discharge. The Registered Nurse works with the interdisciplinary team to provide evidence-based, high quality patient care and safety.

The MDU team focuses on early treatment and referral to aftercare, for patients with addiction. A Clinical Nurse on MDU provides competent patient care and can be utilized as a resource to other nurses for addiction related patient needs.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must have graduated from an accredited nursing school and successfully completed the State Board of Nursing Licensure Exam
  • Bachelor Degree preferred
  • Healthcare Provider Level CPR
  • At least one (1) year of current clinical experience in Detox necessary.
  • Must obtain 20 CEU's per year
  • Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public
