Promises Behavioral Health is seeking Registered Nurse's for our College Station, TX location.

JOB SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse provides professional, direct client care in a medical detoxification and residential program settings in accordance with established program procedures. This position provides, delegates, coordinates and evaluates patient care through the collaborative efforts of health team members and in accordance with the nursing process and standards of care and practice.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee fulfillment of patient's medical orders, address patient medical concerns.
  • Triage medical concerns, administer medications and injections to patients as directed by directed physician.
  • Monitors Client self-administration of medication.
  • Serve as first line in any medical emergency and works with the clinical team in incidences of psychiatric emergencies.
  • Perform laboratory procedures from specimen collections, as authorized.
  • Record patient observations and activities in patient records accurately and timely in accordance with nursing standards and organizational policy and procedure.
  • Communicate with patients, physicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff.
  • Oversee all aspects of admission/discharge process, including:
  • Pre-screen of new patients for appropriateness for admission.
  • Obtain physical assessment data and health history.
  • Inventory and caring for patients' personal possessions.
  • Complete discharge paperwork.
  • Provide quality assessments to client's medication sheets and files to determine if clients are receiving appropriate medication in a timely manner, including proper destruction of medication.
  • Follow all policies and procedures with regard to patient information protection, including alcohol-drug patient confidentiality and HIPAA.
  • Attend training on chemical dependency as required.
  • Maintains and adheres to established infection control/employee health program.
  • Maintain and demonstrates a current working knowledge of applicable clinical procedures and nursing care based on company policy and State and Federal guidelines.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with current clients, family members, referrals sources and vendors.

Requirements
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of accredited RN program, required.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree, preferred.

Certifications:
  • Current, valid RN license.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.

Experience:
  • Minimum three to five (3-5) years of experience in behavioral health or residential detoxification program setting is preferred.
