Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
The Executive Steward is responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of the Stewarding Department to maximize labor efficiency; maintain budgeted labor costs; guarantee safe working condition; and keep the highest standards of sanitation.
• Oversee all aspects of the daily operation of the Stewarding Department.
• Schedule all stewards, pot washer and night cleaners.
• Hire, train, coach and counsel employees. Conduct staff performance reviews in accordance to company standards.
• Assure compliance with Health Department standards.
• Supervise and maintain the sanitation of kitchen, store rooms, hallways, dock, and equipment.
• Work with the Executive Chef and the Director of Events to anticipate equipment needs.
• Order and control inventory of all cleaning compounds. Conduct quarterly china, glass, linen and silver inventories.
• Ensure compliance with SOP's in all stewarding areas.
• Schedule and monitor trash removal.
• Coordinate and monitor all phases of Loss Prevention in the stewarding areas.
• Design and implement daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules. Schedule pest control visits.
• Reconcile quarterly cleaning expenses for rebate purposes.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bilingual English-Spanish required.
• High school diploma preferred.
• At least 2years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Refined communication skills
• Strong leadership skills is highly recommended
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
