Job description

Join Us in Shaping the Future of Decentralized Intelligence
Yuma is building and investing in decentralized AI on the Bittensor network. We operate at the intersection of AI, crypto, and markets - deploying capital through our funds, accelerating the highest-potential subnets, and participating in the network through validation and institutional staking. As a proud subsidiary of DCG, we combine institutional capital with hands-on execution to help bring new forms of intelligence to market.
About the Role
The VP Marketing & Communications will help define and drive Yuma's brand, narrative, and market positioning across the Bittensor ecosystem, as well as with investors, policy makers, regulators, and technologists. This is a highly strategic, externally-facing role that requires strong judgment, executive presence, and the ability to translate complex technical and financial concepts into clear, compelling narratives that drive business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Positioning
  • Position Yuma's brand and narrative to establish Yuma as a key thought leader and entry point into the Bittensor ecosystem, aligning brand storytelling with business goals. Build communications strategies for major milestones and announcements.
  • Partner with Senior Leadership to define and execute go-to-market strategy for Yuma's funds, platform, and ecosystem initiatives.
  • Develop frameworks that communicate complex technical mechanisms into digestible value propositions for Bittensor-native, investment, institutional, and builder audiences.
  • Identify and coordinate relevant events, media, partnerships, and content to maximize impact.
  • Act as a thought partner to the CEO, COO, CRO, and CTO on market positioning, product narratives, and thought leadership themes.
  • Engage with the Bittensor community to enhance the network's impact on artificial intelligence.
  • Work with the web development team to optimize online presence.
  • Design crisis communications frameworks for sensitive events, ensuring transparency and trust within the Bittensor community.

Capital Formation & External Impact
  • Partner closely with the executive team to define and execute go-to-market strategies for Yuma's funds and platform initiatives.
  • Develop investor-facing narratives and materials, ensuring clarity, consistency, and differentiation.
  • Shape how Yuma communicates with LPs, institutional audiences, and strategic partners across all channels.

Leadership & Influence
  • Serve as one of Yuma's senior external voices across media, conferences, and ecosystem engagement.
  • Build and manage external relationships with media, agencies, and strategic partners
  • Lead and develop a lean marketing/comms function, leveraging internal and external resources.

Performance & Prioritization
  • Define success metrics tied to brand awareness, investor engagement, and business growth.
  • Prioritize initiatives that deliver meaningful business impact.

What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years in marketing, communications, or brand leadership roles
  • Experience building brand and go-to-market strategy for investment funds, financial products, or emerging tech platforms
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate with autonomy
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical or financial concepts into clear narratives
  • Experience owning marketing budgets and deploying capital into high-impact campaigns
  • Experience in crypto, digital assets, or investment management environments strongly preferred

What We Offer
  • Inspiring colleagues and an invigorating start-up environment
  • Competitive base salary, bonus and incentive compensation
  • Company paid health insurance for employee, partner and dependents
  • Life insurance, short-term & long-term disability coverage
  • 401K plan with company match
  • Pre-tax transit and parking program and flexible spending programs for medical and dependent care
  • Unlimited PTO / Flexible time off
  • Water-front office with world-class perks and amenities
