What Our Tax Directors Do:Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Adheres to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.
- Directs and drives the success of the department.
- Manages the Tax team, identifies needs of the department and strategically implements processes, manages morale, provides feedback to direct reports on a monthly basis, supports firm initiatives and goals and provides for their implementation at all levels within the Tax department.
- Provide tax support for Blockchain, Crypto and Digital Currencies (BCDC) business unit initiatives and other crypto-related projects
- Analyze the U.S. federal and state tax impact of BCDC and special initiatives and the related support needed to operationalize those initiatives
- Maintain a tight pulse on the technical innovation in the crypto market; need to be in-the-know regarding changing trends around innovative protocol design, consensus mechanisms, scalability initiatives, network launches, upgrades, and regulation.
- Identifies and recommends internal control improvements that may include operational enhancements or efficiencies for the Client.
- Manages client accounts including preparing reports, billing, fee analysis and new service development.
- Reviews and signs-off on final engagements.
- Participates in practice development activities and understands the client business model, client needs, and actively looks for additional service opportunities that leads to building current client base or generating new business.
- Continuous effort towards professional development including continuing education, attending training seminars and networking events.
Qualifications:- Licensed CPA in your state of hire
- Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university
- Master's degree preferred
- Experience with tax issues involving blockchain and cryptocurrency matters is a must
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Extensive knowledge of tax research sources
- Strong knowledge of Internal Revenue Code and regulations, various tax forms and their interrelationships, return filing requirements and due dates
- Minimum of eight years related experience and / or training
