Job description

CHIEF LOGISTICS OFFICER – FOOD MANUFACTURING

We are recruiting for a Chief Logistics Officer (CLO) who will lead this food/beverage company’s enterprise logistics strategy across transportation, warehousing, fleet operations, planning, compliance, technology, and field support aligning people, resources, and systems to improve service, reduce costs, optimize assets, and drive business performance.

Key Responsibilities as the CLO:

  • Develop and execute an enterprise logistics strategy, and lead logistics leadership teams overseeing transportation, warehousing, fleet, planning, maintenance, compliance, and field support in a manner that supports company goals & exceeds customers’ expectations.
  • Establish performance metrics for cost, service, utilization, maintenance, delivery, and operational efficiency by driving continuous improvements in routing, network design, systems, technology, asset utilization, and logistics processes.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, compliance, safety, licensing, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Finance, Procurement, Operations, and other leaders on capital planning, budgeting, asset management, and business priorities.
  • Lead contingency planning and risk management for transportation, labor, weather, maintenance, and supply disruptions.
  • Leverage analytics, technology, and emerging solutions to improve visibility, decision-making, and performance.
  • Provide executive leadership with performance updates, recommendations, capital priorities, and risk assessments.

Requirements for this Chief Logistics Officer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, operations, business, engineering, or related field.

· Experience in refrigerated foods, beverages, or other temperature- and service-sensitive supply chains.

· Experience overseeing both private DSD fleet and third-party transportation models

· Familiarity with logistics technologies, advanced analytics, and network modeling tools

· Background leading transformation, integration, or optimization initiatives across distributed manufacturing and distribution operations

  • Minimum of 12 years of proven successful progressive leadership experience in complex, multi-site logistics, transportation, supply chain, distribution, fleet, or operations.
  • Experience managing budgets, capital planning, vendors, performance metrics, and compliance with strong analytical, financial, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% nationally.
