Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Department: 140 - Facilities & Maintenance
Reports To: IT Network Admin & Facilities Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary
Perform general maintenance, both preventive and as needed, on buildings and grounds of the JCC facility.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Follow Department Creed for Success daily
  • Ability to problem solve diverse situations
  • Maintain all Mechanical/HVAC equipment with the assistance of an HVAC vendor
    • Includes repair service, preventative maintenance, and coordinating work with service providers
  • Maintain pool equipment
  • Take/record pool chemical data in accordance with established JCC protocol and make chemical changes as needed to maintain proper balance
  • Backwash, fill pools, and maintain pool heating units based on needs
  • Adjust thermostats as needed
  • Perform pool maintenance during pool shut down periods, including cleaning, caulking, painting, and any other necessary functions
  • Maintain all electric equipment including light fixtures
  • Electrical work including the replacement of light bulbs, ballasts, and fixtures
  • Responsible for maintenance tasks assigned by their supervisor, CEO, or COO
  • General maintenance of the building and grounds
  • Maintain standards and proper records related to building maintenance regarding ACA and ECS accreditation
  • Assist with the set-up/tear down of rooms in preparation for programs, meetings, and other functions on an as-needed basis
  • Aid with camp start-up, maintain camp, and end-of-camp-year tear down
  • Perform monthly life safety checks on fire extinguishers, emergency lights, and exit signs
  • Responsible for all snow and ice removal on sidewalks

Education & Experience
  • No specific degree required; relevant trade experience preferred
  • Good working knowledge of painting, drywall, plumbing, and HVAC troubleshooting and minor repairs

Skills & Competencies
  • Must be able to use a computer to search for parts and tools

Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work at heights of 25 feet or more, including on the roof, on a single man lift, or on a ladder
  • Work is performed in a facility environment with varying indoor and outdoor conditions
  • Must be able to communicate actively through email
  • Must have a valid driver's license with insurance coverage
