Position Title: Executive Assistant 

Salary Range: $64,911 - $85,751

Job Description:

The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has an opening for an Executive Assistant to the District Attorney. The Executive Assistant provides highlevel administrative, operational, and scheduling support to the District Attorney and Executive staff. This role operates at the center of a fastmoving, highprofile environment and requires exceptional judgment, discretion, and professionalism. The Executive Assistant will routinely handle confidential, sensitive, and privileged information while managing complex priorities, coordinating communications, and ensuring the seamless execution of executivelevel operations. 


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage all internal and external scheduling for the District Attorney and Executive staff, including realtime calendar adjustments and meeting coordination.
  • Maintain daily and weekly briefing materials (including digital/PDF versions) and ensure alignment with the DA's schedule.
  • Monitor and triage incoming emails, respond to inquiries, route communications, and draft/distribute officewide and alumni communications.
  • Oversee executive administrative processes.
  • Coordinate HR and legal logistics for interviews, retirements, swearingins, and related personnel events, including compliance tasks such as COIB records.
  • Support administrative procedures including notarizations, scheduling wires, travel arrangements, and reimbursements for the District Attorney and Executive staff.
  • Provide front desk coverage, manage meeting logistics and hospitality needs, and oversee the Executive Conference Room schedule.
  • Maintain office supplies and support general office operations.
  • Reconcile the calendar daily, conduct periodic and quarterly calendar audits, and manage the executive vacation schedule with monthly reminders, reports and record keeping.
  • Support ongoing administrative, operational, and special projects assigned by the District Attorney and Executive staff.

Preferred Requirements/Skills:

  • Excellent diction and telephone skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Must be able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment; able to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented, self-motivated, highly organized, resourceful, and reliable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
  • Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and witnesses.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality a must.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workflow.

Additional Information:

  • Current office employees: To be eligible for a transfer or promotion, staff must have already served at least one (1) year in their current unit/bureau/department and be in good standing. In addition, must meet the minimum and additional qualifications of the position.
  • Please note: this is a non-unionized position.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • Level 1 - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and One (1) year of full-time administrative, executive support, office operations, or related experience. 
  • Level 2 - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and Two (2) years of full-time administrative, executive support, office operations, or related experience. 
  • Level 3 - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and Three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative, executive support, office operations, or related experience. 
  • Level 4 - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and Four (4) years of progressively responsible executive administrative, office operations, or related experience. 
  • Level 5 - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and Five (5) years of progressively responsible executive support, administrative operations, or related experience. 
  • Level 6 - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and Six (6) years of progressively responsible executive administrative, operations, or related experience. 
  • Level 7 - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and Seven (7) years of progressively responsible executive support, administrative management, operations, or related experience.
