Job description

Position Overview
Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Bungalows is seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven Event & Restaurant Sales Manager to grow our local social and catering business across the resort and Weft & Warp Art Bar + Kitchen.
This role is designed for a strong seller who also enjoys bringing events to life. The Senior Event & Restaurant Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and converting wedding business, local social and catering events, and restaurant parties of 15 guests or more.
The position combines proactive sales, relationship development, contracting, event planning, and execution. The ideal candidate knows the Scottsdale/Phoenix market, is comfortable building a book of local business, and understands how to translate the distinctive Andaz Scottsdale experience into memorable events.
Key Responsibilities
Wedding Sales
  • Serve as a primary sales contact for wedding inquiries at Andaz Scottsdale, from initial inquiry through contracting.
  • Conduct site tours, prepare proposals, negotiate terms, and convert qualified wedding leads into definite business.
  • Build relationships with wedding planners, industry partners, vendors, and other referral sources throughout the local market.
  • Maximize wedding revenue through thoughtful use of event spaces, food and beverage offerings, guest rooms, and other resort experiences.
  • Once a wedding is contracted, conduct a seamless and detailed handover to the designated wedding/event planner, who will manage the planning and execution of the wedding.
  • Maintain appropriate communication with the client and internal team throughout the transition to ensure expectations and commitments made during the sales process are clearly documented.

Local Catering & Social Events
  • Proactively solicit and sell local catering and social event business, including celebrations, birthdays, anniversaries, showers, rehearsal dinners, corporate social events, holiday parties, private dinners, and other special occasions.
  • Manage local event inquiries from lead generation and qualification through proposal, contracting, planning, and execution.
  • Unlike weddings, personally service the local events sold, serving as the client's primary contact through the completion of the event.
  • Coordinate all event details with Culinary, Banquets, Operations, Audio Visual, Front Office, and other resort departments.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate event documentation, including contracts, banquet event orders, diagrams, timelines, and billing arrangements.
  • Conduct pre-conference and event-detail meetings as appropriate.
  • Be present for key events when needed to ensure successful execution and strong client satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell food and beverage, upgraded experiences, additional event spaces, and other resort offerings.

Weft & Warp Private Dining & Group Business
  • Own the sales process for parties of 15 guests or more at Weft & Warp Art Bar + Kitchen.
  • Respond promptly to group dining and private event inquiries and actively prospect for new restaurant group business.
  • Sell celebrations, corporate dinners, social gatherings, buyouts, semi-private events, and other group dining occasions.
  • Work closely with Weft & Warp leadership and the Culinary team to create compelling group dining experiences and packages.
  • Manage the client relationship from inquiry through contracting, event details, and execution.
  • Maximize revenue by identifying opportunities for enhanced menus, beverage experiences, private/semi-private spaces, and full or partial restaurant buyouts.

Sales & Business Development
  • Develop and execute a proactive local sales strategy focused on generating new catering, wedding, social event, and restaurant group business.
  • Build strong relationships with local corporations, executive assistants, event professionals, wedding planners, destination partners, community organizations, luxury residential communities, and other potential referral sources.
  • Maintain an active presence in the Scottsdale/Phoenix hospitality and events community.
  • Conduct prospecting calls, appointments, site inspections, networking activities, and client entertainment.
  • Maintain an organized pipeline and consistently follow up on leads to maximize conversion.
  • Partner with Marketing and resort leadership to develop promotions and experiences that generate incremental local event business.
  • Understand competitive venues, pricing, market trends, and emerging opportunities within the local events landscape.
