Who You Are

The Vice President of Accounting & Finance will be responsible for the financial controls for Maxima Apparel Corp and all of its family of brands and subsidiaries across the globe. Leading financial strategy and management, this role will oversee teams in various geo-locations in all financial functions including accounting, budgeting, financial planning, reporting, payroll, audits, and regulatory compliance. The VP of Accounting & Finance will report to the the SVP of Finance in US reporting directly into this role, and will partner with the executive team in Human and Financial capital management.

The ideal person will be one who can roll their sleeves up, be willing to foster a culture of growth and strategy, both on a macro and micro level. Going beyond the mastery of numbers, you will embrace a holistic strategic vision for Maxima, including leveraging AI and intelligent automation to modernize finance operations, accelerate decision-making, and build a future-ready finance function.

Our resources are predominantly offshore-based, and as such, collaboration with them is essential for our operations. Working seamlessly with our offshore colleagues is integral to achieving our goals and delivering exceptional results for our stakeholders

What You'll Do

Financial Leadership & Operations:

  • Own all general accounting functions in compliance with GAAP including monthly financial closing process. Control and manage AP, AR, Collections, and for all international teams in 4 geo-locations including USA, MXO, IND, CHN.
  • Maintain a system of accounting policies and procedures with a set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the Company's reported financials.
  • Manage the accounting teams globally, including direct oversight of the VP of Finance in India and regional finance leaders across Mexico, India, and China.
  • Prepare and file Annual Corporate tax filings, Shareholder tax filings, and sales tax filings for all sales verticals including Wholesale, Retail, and Ecommerce.
  • Prepare and file international subsidiary tax filings including VAT/GST management.
  • Manage the payroll functions with site leaders in all locations and all Human Capital Management strategies while adhering to regulatory compliance.

Strategy & Risk Management:

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks to the organization and implement risk management policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth and profitability including preparation of budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
  • Manage the company's cash flow and liquidity to ensure financial stability.
  • Stay current with changes in financial regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Serve as a strategic partner in the organization with the Executive Team, contributing to the overall direction and success of the company.

AI, Automation & Finance Transformation:

  • Define and execute an AI and automation roadmap for the finance function, identifying high-impact opportunities to replace manual workflows with intelligent solutions across AP, AR, collections, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Champion the deployment of AI-powered tools for cash application, invoice processing, anomaly detection, and fraud prevention to improve accuracy, speed, and control across global operations.
  • Lead the integration of predictive analytics and machine learning models into budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning to enable data-driven, forward-looking decision-making.
  • Drive adoption of RPA (Robotic Process Automation) to streamline repetitive processes such as tax filings, intercompany reconciliations, payroll validation, and regulatory reporting across all four geo-locations.
  • Evaluate and implement AI copilots and large language model (LLM) tools to accelerate financial analysis, audit preparation, compliance monitoring, and executive reporting.
  • Partner with IT leadership to architect a modern, AI-ready finance technology stack-optimizing ERP systems and integrating AI/ML platforms that scale with the company's global growth.
  • Establish governance frameworks for AI usage within finance, ensuring data integrity, model transparency, auditability, and compliance with evolving regulatory standards.
  • Foster an AI-forward culture within the finance organization, upskilling offshore and onshore teams to work effectively alongside AI tools and automated workflows.
What You Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive leadership experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role.
  • Industry Experience Preferred - Apparel, Fashion, Consumer Goods.
  • Proven track record of financial leadership, strategic planning, and driving results in a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a focus on fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to think critically, anticipate future trends, and develop creative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Commitment to integrity, ethics, and transparency in financial management and decision-making.

AI & Technology (Preferred):

  • Demonstrated experience leading AI, RPA, or intelligent automation initiatives within a finance or accounting organization-particularly in multi-entity, global environments.
  • Hands-on familiarity with AI/ML platforms, data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and modern ERP systems with automation and integration capabilities.
  • Experience deploying or overseeing AI copilots, LLM-based tools, or GPT-enabled workflows for financial reporting, audit support, compliance monitoring, or executive decision support.
  • Track record of building business cases for technology investments, managing vendor selection, and driving change management across global finance teams during digital transformation.
  • Understanding of data governance, model risk management, and ethical AI principles as applied to financial operations and regulatory environments.
