We are looking for our next Chemical Process Operator within POLYOX operations. The Chemical Process Operator will be responsible for operating equipment in an automated manufacturing environment where chemicals are being produced. Our Operators utilize chemical manufacturing knowledge and experience to operate and troubleshoot the plant in a safe and efficient manner. Our operators will also participate in all EH&S programs and initiatives as well as assisting in implementing solutions.

This position is located in Institute, WV.

Compensation:

The current salary range for this role is estimated to be $26.63 - $45.67/hour. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation. The specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

What You'll Do:

  • Utilize chemical manufacturing knowledge and experience to operate and troubleshoot technical equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Set-up, tear-down and install hardware utilizing appropriate operating disciplines.
  • Load and unload tank trucks as required
  • Interpret data and adjust process conditions as needed.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks as required to keep processes operating.
  • Understand the key process variables which impact product quality and consistency and understand how to control and troubleshoot them.
  • Monitor and operate the unit via the computer control system. Must be able to make safe and educated decisions in the event of a process upset
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate with other employees using multiple methods of communication
  • Participate in all safety programs and required training; demonstrate behaviors with a clear safety focus for all employees and the community; engage in all plant initiatives, identify near miss incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures covering safety regulations and cGMP guidelines.

What You'll Need:

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in chemical operations or similar environment
  • Knowledge of plant and distribution operations
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word
  • Experience working in cGMP facility (preferred)

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively and clearly with other operators, staff, maintenance, and contractors.
  • Ability to wear required PPE such as steel toes, hard hat, FRC clothing, protective eyewear. Must be able to wear a respirator and/or full-shield face mask.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk, climb stairs, utilize vertical ladders, operate valves at grade/waist/head, and lift/move 50 Lbs.
  • Ability to work in hot, cold and loud environments.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position that will be required to work a 12-hour, rotating shift. On occasion, additional work may be required outside of the normal shift schedule and could include weekends.

Business Travel:

  • Limited to no business travel is expected for this position.
